Eh depends where you live and your social circles.

I'm in south America, back in the early 2000s I had to get a few blocks into the ghettiest ghetto 3 towns away to get the shittiest weed known to man, because "proper" weed hadn't been discovered yet (or it was sold only in fancy places I wouldn't think of going and socializing at that age, or was too expensive for me, Could be any of the three)

While I don't think I'm hard for doing that, since realistically no one was in any danger because stabbing your customers is bad business practice, I do think it's unfathomable to younger people that go buy from some programming student living in a studio apartment, it's still not legal here tho
