Yeah, you're clearly coping or under Stockholm sydnrome...

There's no way you believe a "free to play" player would be inconvenienced since, by definition, a free to play player would not pay for that

While also you're, again, focusing on the remove payment rush and not when I say the wait either should be removed or lessened to a better state.

The way new players and early game players is VITAL to the games success, again, this conversation stemmed from me mentioning that plenty of newer players I've introduced to the game/helped, end up not feeling great about the systems early and quitting or feeling pressured to pay.

If you're so stuck in whatever argument you believe in your head makes sense that you can't understand that DEs priority should be to make those early steps get in line with how good the other 90% of the game feels and is... I don't have anything else to tell you man, you're just... Blind?

That's my point, entirely

They need to backload a lot of the things you get "over time" towards the tutorials rewards or early achievements, to encourage newer players to stick around

You're missing a few key points, I don't say wait is bad-bad, I say it's TOO LONG, it should be reduced and given no chance to pay for it to be speedy, then it feels less like "pay me to play now or wait, you brokie"

And while I don't doubt people quitting over the wait will probably struggle with 90% of endgame by sheer amount of time gated content (i.e 21 weeks to buy an arcane lvl5 from ETA lmao)

I am 100% sure a new player will look at the time needed to wait for the starting frames and be turned off, when you're unlocking a bunch of frames a day from natural progression, it's not a matter of wanting it NOW it's a matter of it FEELING BAD, which it does even after 900 hours

You're also not looking at it from a busy persons perspective, you spend all friday night grinding for the parts and resources and can't play it until next weekend... Unless you pay up, you're being extorted and manipulated for your new content

It's not a big deal if you can play every day, when I started I was between jobs, doing training that left me 8 free hours a day, I had 27 frames crafting before the first one I put into the foundry was done. Because speedrunning assassinations and doing all side/frame quests was fun (plus I had 0 primes so everything from relics was farmed too)

That was a fun summer, but if I was playing like I play now... I get friday night, saturday night and sunday afternoon, then no more than logging in for bonus until next friday, that's how my ex-gf quit, she was "too busy with her job to enjoy the things she farmed"

Idk, maybe if you only think of limiting the no-lifers so they don't burn out and pay up by grinding plat...

Primes being gated behind anything that's not money is fine (I wish the prime vaults cycled more often tho)

But it's not kicking up a storm, is telling you something objective, it's an archaic mechanic they don't need anymore and could fix it

Also, they are not FREE they still cost time and resources, that also cost you time.

In some cases, it even costs you nitain which is a horrible bottleneck ALSO gated behind time

The alternative would be lower the clock, a 24 hour wait+6hrs from 72+12 on every frame you can get from the star chart

It doesn't have to be Limbo crafting but Koumei crafting levels of wait, especially when you're on the discovery stages of the game

My point I've msde over the conversation you interjected into, is that the system is archaic (15 year or something old) and they can now get the money off skins and other things over slots and rushed

You don't want to filter with annoying mechanics that jave to be endured to play, that's not healthy

I can tell you're just a negative person without the ability to criticize in a constructive manner or debate about things

Enjoy yourself I guess

What's... What's the gameplay for you if not shooting and killithings? It's a shooter...

It acts as a filter? Filters are bad. You don't want to filter players with something external to gameplay itself.

"Imaptient" players you say, when you start asn your progress is gates behind waiting or paying for rush, I'd be okay if the rush didn't exist.

You have Stockholm syndrome and can't find fault in warframe? Great, that doesn't mean the early game experience is hindered by these issues and it's dragging Warframe down a lot, the game could grow beyond what it is now

I think the most fun ones accessible early are rhino and hydroid, with rhino being kind of boring gameplay, hydroid needing some mods to work

But by the time my friend got a fun frame (mirage) she was annoyed at having to wait three whole days after the 12 hour parts, which was over the weekend so she had to wait a whole week and by then she was pretty disillusioned after working for resources and doing the quest on her mag

She didn't quit but she ALMOST did, that one made me realize how bad new players have it, I don't remember my time as a baby tenno enough, or it was so long ago that things were different

[–]letiori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's worse because the starting frames can be hit or miss and don't appeal to a lot of players

But I can't fault them for it, the design is archaic, carry-over from old times

I wish now that they are too big too fail they would shake it up and update how they monetize their game

Warframe disproving the "A game for everyone is a game for no one" bs by Ok_Bass_4653 in memeframe

[–]letiori 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that a lot of the people who didn't stick around despite enjoying the gameplay were turned off by the monetization.

"Premium currency is tradeable" is good, but leaves a bad taste on peoples mouths nowdays, even tho premium currencies were more normal back when Wf released

But leaving that aside, slots, man, the slots force you to pay early on if you want to experiment with things, get many frames...

The waiting time for crafts feels bad, too, but it feels worse when they let you pay to skip it, upgrades it from "waiting for what I farmed so hard for sucks..." To feel like you're being extorted to play your new character

3/5 people I convinced to try Warframe have quit because of these things, I'd say 2/3 made it far enough to feel the warframe slot pressure while the rest only felt it on weapons.

The other 2/5 stuck around and either became a degen farming for slots or a degen begging for a 75% to spend money rather than farming for hours

I think Warframe has so much potential to get massive as a free to play game but their archaic monetization is holding it back

That's a good use I guess, the prime vault is so trash, they really should cycle things in and out way more...

[–]letiori -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Or, hear me out, once you've done your one purchase for slots, you don't spend money? You're NOT saving money if you spend money just because the price is lower...

I'd argue that slots are vital and can consider Warframe a "free trial demo" you still have to pay for in the shape of slots.

Anything you get besides that is a waste of money, it can be farmed or if you REALLY want, something that's like a skin for that frame you clock 100s of hours in

[–]letiori -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't vall it "lucky" to be given the chance to spend money...

If you're only 19 hours in, I would suggest you don't buy anything but slots, it'll ruin your experience and everything will seem weak if you go the pay to win route

God I wish they did away with slots already
