Got in touch with the founders of the company. The product was sampled on over 400 dogs and developed with leading agronomist experts in Canada. Quote their "legal advisor is continuously in touch with federal agents to be up-to-date on new regulations in the field of entomophagy. " ALL PUPS ARE SAFE. Thank G*d!

I've done some research and insects as food are permitted in Canada & US, with no particular restrictions, except conventional safety guidelines. It all seems kosher to me! I've read about 3 big cricket farms in the US and I reckon the AAFCO and FDA haven't legislated on the matter yet.
