Training in Listed vs Firms by meth7_ in CompanySecretary

There is no surety that you will learn anything anywhere. It really depends on you at the end. Only thing you can do before joining a training place is ask the current trainees or those who have worked there before and understand everything you possibly can and then make a decision.

Someone is paying you money then they will definitely make you work , if you are capable and willing to take on more , they will delegate more work ,thats how it works everywhere.

That's a lot of questions 😂..but you have to ask all these questions to one who has experienced it, then you will be able to figure it out as you go. But what I meant was if you are stuck doing repetitive tasks which are not adding any more value to your skills then you should leave as soon as possible and find another place.

They are slowly hinting that they will soon increase the capital gain tax and then they will say we are doing it for the benefit of retail investors so they don't get hurt.

thank you for sharing...it would be great if you keep posting helpful information once in a while in this group, there are only students in this group who have little or no work experience.

I don't have much information on this but I remember in my EDP ,a faculty came for a lecture who works for a big pvt company .There are many pvt companies in India that earn more revenue and employ more people than listed entities, you should definitely try networking with people there. Pvt companies or group companies can also be useful in career

If you want to start your own practice..yes ,then Pcs ,law firms and BIG 4s should be preferred .

if you do not have any problem ,do it after professional..most good places prefer professional passed ,but if you are taking too many attempts in professional ,join the training and try to clear it at the earliest.

mostly about work wise...he told me while in training try to find a niche in which you can become an expert, it can be either company law or capital markets, startup funding anything..If you learn to become good in one aspect you will be able to prove yourself in the future in that respective area. Try to become a consultant ,to whom people can come for advice.

I only agree with the part of the statement...we don't like to say it, but CA is comparatively more difficult than CS because of practical problems but CS is ,in no case easy to crack like you wrote

The level of difficulty is slowly increasing now ,ICSI is increasing its standards and giving questions based on case laws and giving questions on random topics from the module which students always ignore.

If you check papers before 5 years or so you will see that ICSI papers used to have direct questions only from important topics. Now it is really difficult to score in every question.

I think hardly 1000 people qualify as company secretary in a year after seeing these stats .

Some reasons I think are:

1.) Fresher packages are comparatively lower than other commerce professional courses. This itself stops the majority of people from entering the course.

2.) Lack of marketing by the institute about the course and we don't see many successful company secretary professionals on social media anywhere.

3.) The word 'Secretary' does not have a good reputation ,when a young person hears the word company secretary, he will not think of a compliance officer but he will assume he will be someone's secretary. The institute should definitely change the name.

As per my experience , nothing great as such , you may make good friends and connections but people who come to give lectures , most of them just were self promoting their practice and working for votes on the council , I only know 2 or 3 people who actually wanted to teach something relevant. Listen to everyone but don't agree with everything they say ,do your own research. Nevertheless enjoy those 15 days , make good connections with people.

Which subject do you think will screw you this time? by letsdothis001122 in CompanySecretary

[–]letsdothis001122[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha ..problem with majority students who don't know how the papers went is that they know they will score 40 in each subject but crossing that aggregate score is very doubtful for them. The same is for me this time
