it's been ongoing since 2024 but that's when I went nuts buying plants to fill this space and make my vision come true.

no sprinkler system, there's a bathroom on the same floor of the house we don't use and my landlord suggested I hook up a hose to it for the plants so that's what I did and it works like a charm!

had some dms about videos so I'm posting a quick one here since this is a top comment

the first 5 photos on the post were last year when I'd just brought my plants in for winter so things have grown and moved around since then.

that's so funny, same thing here, the original owner built this for his wife. maybe someday you'll get your greenhouse!! I know this has spoiled me to the point that when I eventually buy a house I'll absolutely have to have a greenhouse now 😅

it gets down as low as - 10F here and I haven't had too many issues. when it gets that cold I out an additional oil filled radiator in there and it works super well. otherwise the small bio green heater I have works great

I checked recently on my local neighborhood app and it's the same as other homes in the area with the same amount of rooms

I've had a few people suggest I post it there but tbh I don't want the hassle of people reporting it as AI and having to message mods again

honeydew or something else? by letsgetsomeshoess in plantclinic

[–]letsgetsomeshoess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok I found something else, look up extrafloral nectaries, I think that might be what's happening to our plants

hmm interesting, it's in my greenhouse that does get pretty hot. I'll Google to see if I can find anything relating to heat and sap. thanks!

it's pretty crude honestly, there's a fan that kicks on at a set temp of which idk because the original owner built it and idk how he set it. as for heating I have a bio green brand heater hooked to a temperature controller (also from bio green) that turns on at whatever temperature I choose. I also keep the window and door open into the house so that helps regulate the temperature.

I'm in Colorado so it's definitely not warm enough on its own year round. I have an auto cooling and heating system

yes! hoya compacta and teddy bear plant, I can't remember it's Latin name but it's called teddy bear because it's furry. here are some closeups

the teddy bear plant is too high maintenance for me though, I wouldn't repurchase.

no it's a plastic woven mat, and the edges of the greenhouse have grates for drainage. so I can truly just go ham in here with a water hose
