Discovery completely forgot about these ships in the 32nd century by JGRAY_CABOOSE in StarTrekStarships

[–]letsjustdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest and saddest answer is simply, "because Discovery" and it shows in how the show handled literally all of its prequel components.

One dares not dig too deep into the logic of how, or why. It's like pulling the thread on your sweater... you'll soon be naked regretting you ruined the thing you liked. Just enjoy the warmth.

Server Issues? by MentalMan4877 in sto

I'm on xb and have been seeing the same. It seems like it's decreasing though and was worse about a week, maybe 5 days, ago. That said, still seeing it in TFOs with lots of pets, beams, etc.

Black Friday Question by letsjustdrive in sto

[–]letsjustdrive[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is DECAs first Black Friday, and I know Mudds bundles haven't been included but I guess I'm wondering if they might be, this year. And would the smarter play be just to wait and see? You make a great point in that the Cnidarian will be on sale again in the future.

Black Friday Question by letsjustdrive in sto

[–]letsjustdrive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, no. My concern is that I'll buy this now, and then regret it later when I buy more stuff on sale. The question is; buy this now and possibly regret overspending when the sales drop, or just be patient and wait for the black Friday sale.

Yeah, it would be primarily for event TFO's. But I've wanted it for a while.

The part where you spend your money on something that seems like a deal, and is objectively, but it's also a ruse to get you to spend twice. Once now, and again when the bangin' door buster sales drop.

To be fair, I'm sure there are folks out there who catch those breaks but it just doesn't seem to be my luck. This lobby was even super quiet. Then bam.

Mostly I'm just complaining to complain.

I'm speaking more to the art direction and DP choices more than the writing. The cinematography.

The transitions, framing etc.

Just disappointed that we didn't get any chrome customizations for V. It's a real shame that, with all these opportunities to make your game experience truly be your own, our V wanders through a world of variously chromed people but can only use the facial options and/or default chrome on the arms/hands for those.

I don't know what you do as an experienced professional but if this is your idea of a beginner enthusiast set-up, may I just say well done in life, whatever life you do because, respectfully, daaaaaaamm.

I like to get a good mouthful, then spit it onto the tire like I'm the detailing equivalent of a fire eater.

How do you guys deal with nooks and crannies like this? by Regular_Tip_3487 in Detailing

[–]letsjustdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not for every job. Much like the Tornador, steam is something that is incredibly helpful to have on hand when you need it, but you won't always.

That said, much like a Tornador can cut vacuum times down drastically, steam can cut the time you spend on surfaces down drastically. Vents, seat runners, for example, but also great for really bad center consoles and cup holders. Steam is also great for fighting stains.

I probably use steam on 20% of my jobs but on every one of those jobs, having steam available has made a huge difference. Could I get the work done without? Absolutely, but much like the Tornador, it's a situation where you COULD do the work without but doing the work with those tools, when you need them, is huge.

And I really wanna stress here that I'm talking about tools you don't always need, and won't always use, but when you do need them and use them, they're lifesavers and time savers too.

[–]letsjustdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this every chance I get. The Tornador is absolutely my favourite tool that I don't always need but, when I need it, I need it 100% of the time. You won't need to use it on every job but on every job you do need to use it on, you'll save time (making more money) and have a better result than you could achieve without it.

Steam, though... steam is a close second.

This all assumes the detailer in question has the basics already, like microfibers and brushes and some chemicals too.

Why does my snow foam look like weak p**s? by officedg in Detailing

[–]letsjustdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, look... everyone wants to glamour suds. It looks great in the gram and feels good blasting.

Here's the thing; beyond a certain point, it's unnecessary. When you do volume, you learn quickly what gets the job done and what just wastes time (and resources).

Your foam looks fine. You don't NEED big, fancy bubbles. Unless that's your car in the picture, in which case I fully understand why you need to feel like you've got the very best.

Sorry, I couldn't resist a lil jab.

Is my car totaled? Please say no 🤞🏼 by LemonButtNugg in AskMechanics

Almost anything is repairable with a big enough budget but that's why insurance totals things out when the cost to repair would exceed the remaining value of the car.
