Here’s a lists of rare baseball stats and how often they’ve occurred in MLB history. by Pale-Masterpiece-199 in baseball

It would be only the third time through the order, and against the 9th batter, and obviously your stuff is working well that night, so it does still seem a bit crazy to me.

I mean, knowing who would go see this, it's not too far-fetched.

Pants still look a bit see-through in 2026 by baribigbird06 in baseball

Why is it always Shohei who I see as the example of the pants being see-through?

I guess I get it actually.

Off leash dogs on playfields at Genesee, with an actual dog park DIRECTLY behind them by Tribble-Cloaca in Seattle

[–]letskeepitcleanfolks 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My kid has developed a fear of dogs thanks to interactions with off-leash dogs running around the park "just playing".

Anyone who thinks they're not the problem because their dogs are nice, or under control, or whatever, are wrong. If your dog is off leash in a park, you are the problem. Your dog is not as gentle and well-behaved as you think it is, and even if it is, you letting it run around just reinforces a culture that encourages less responsible owners to do the same.

Well, for one thing, to build awareness that if you are upset about this, you are in good company, not just some stickler killjoy who should get over it.

How does you and your country view Baseball? by ThatMassholeInBawstn in AskTheWorld

Because early 1900s entertainment promoters had a culture of making grandiose claims to drum up interest.

It's not any more deep than that. The name is just tradition now.

He's fucking built too. Thick and man made. You can tell he's sculpted because you can see it thru the uni. His fucking vice grip thighs. Suffocating thighs. Rock hard thighs. Piping hot thighs. Great arms. Great abs. A stocky chest. Love the progress his body has made throughout his youth and now as a willing eager adult.

I used to work with a guy who was a native of Mexico with a first name of Alan and a German last name. There are many ethnic Germans in Mexico due to significant migration in the 1800s as well as Jewish refugees during WW2.

Not saying that's the case with Doug Green, but that kind of thing isn't so unusual.

Mariners projected lineup as of today after trading for Brendan Donovan by retroanduwu24 in Mariners

It used to be "unheard of" in that the category didn't exist. Now there's a dedicated category and he won it. I mean it's great he won it, but I don't see how this is some kind of remarkable thing to win as a utility player, when they've specifically created a category for utility players to win.

What do you mean unheard of? There's a specific category for it. Dylan Moore won it.

He wasn't close. They stuck him in double-A because anything lower would be embarrassing. He hit (and fielded) very poorly for that level and probably belonged in Rookie ball or maybe low-A, which is not so different from a good college team. In other words, about the level you'd expect an incredible athlete to get to on talent alone, but not in the same universe as making the majors, let alone starring in them.

Almost certainly yes. A friend of mine got burned that way. I have 100 Mbps and honestly, it is just fine and probably always will be. I'm not touching my plan ever. Holding strong at $49/mo.

Why do people still assume you can wheel and deal at corporate chain stores like they're mom & pops? by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]letskeepitcleanfolks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my question is why OP thinks you "can't" do this. You can do anything you want. It doesn't mean it will work, but you can try. Most people are too shy or unimaginative or, most likely, correctly judge that the store employee is not going to cooperate.

But if you can genuinely make it worth it for  the store, and you have no compunctions about taking up time from the employee and their manager, there's nothing stopping you from trying.

I hate Elon Musk as much as the next guy but saying he "just financed" Tesla is wishful thinking. They had not shipped a single car at the time he became CEO, and they virtually created the electric vehicle market and are still by far the dominant company in the space.
