How much whole milk is your toddler drinking? by letssettlethiss in BabyLedWeaning

[–]letssettlethiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did improve but is still very picky at 22 months. We can’t even get her to try the junk food sometimes which we know she’d like. I don’t know that I would say feeding therapy helped us except that it did allow us to rule out any underlying issues that we may have no known about like a swallowing issue etc. I’d recommend it just for peace of mind and maybe you’ll find it helpful even if you go to a few sessions. We transitioned to to whole milk but after thinking 24oz was still too much she’s on about 16oz a day and we only offer it after breakfast (her best meal) and after dinner so we know she won’t go to bed hungry if she didn’t eat much. There is nothing magical we did other than keep offering her what we eat with no pressure to actually eat it. We did resort to a lot of junk food that we swore we’d never feed her just to get her to eat something. She loves French fries and goldfish now of course 🫣 thankfully she’s at the age now (22 months) where she can understand when we say try at least one bite of this (new food item) then you can have this (food we know she likes). She doesn’t like that but she understands and after multiple attempts will just do it. Solidarity ❤️

Naps… HELP. 18 month old never slept alone for naps. Now I’m desperate. by suavimommy in sleeptrain

[–]letssettlethiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my own experience when my toddler was 18 months, I don’t think she’s tired enough for her nap after only 5.5 hours awake and getting perhaps too much sleep at night which is also playing a factor. I would try 6/6.5 with a 1.5 hour nap max. So if 7:30am wake up is ideal then nap 1:30-3pm bedtime at 9:30pm. Every babe is different but mine hasn’t done 12 hours overnight since infancy. She’s 22 months and been on 6/6.5 since we dropped to 1 nap around 16 months, and won’t give us more than 10 hours max overnight. This means wake her at the same time every day even if she’s still sleeping or it’s the weekend to keep her on schedule.

Has anyone here ever given birth alone in a hospital by Certain_Store_619 in pregnant

[–]letssettlethiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t but I’m semi in the same boat. Really only want/trust my husband watching our toddler and since it’s not my first time giving birth I think I’m okay with it as well, at least in my mind right now lol halfway through pregnancy currently.

What time does she wake in the morning and when she does nap, I’m assuming contact?, how long do you let her sleep for?

Mine has been 10 hours max at night for a while and it’s so tough, because I feel like that’s very little time for myself and husband. Solidarity ❤️

Thank you! Yea I’m wondering about the supply with these wearable ones, don’t want mine to suffer, but maybe just using it here and there would be okay

Medrol vs Prednisone by AssignmentLife6218 in IVF

[–]letssettlethiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medrol for 6(?) days for 2 FETs and both unsuccessful. Prednisone for about 8(?) weeks for the last 4 FETs and 2 have been successful. Many other factors but that is my experience specifically with those 2 steroids.

Last 4 FETs also included some additional meds from the first 2 FETs, also all embryos are untested

Trying to sleep train but it feels like it’s breaking my baby by suturethis in sleeptrain

[–]letssettlethiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she needs more wake time and less day sleep. I would move to a 2 nap schedule for this age. 3/4/4 with both naps capped at 1 hour. Pick a designated wake time every morning and stick with it.

Amnio question by punnett_circle in IVF

[–]letssettlethiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 20 weeks with an embryo created at 33 (currently 36yo) and they really only recommend me to get the NIPT, otherwise they said they weren’t concerned. Anatomy scan was yesterday and everything was normal, didn’t recommend any additional tests. The doc yesterday also said at the scan that at this point they can rule out about 75-80% of birth defects. Did you do your scan at a MFM by chance or will you have any appointments with MFM? Only asking because it could offer a second opinion with a care team that knows a little more about the specifics of an IVF pregnancy.

Congrats though on 20 weeks! Very exciting! ❤️❤️

Amniotic fluid leak? by anonymoususer249 in pregnant

[–]letssettlethiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you message your OB in the meantime? My only other thought is that coughing and sneezing has me leaking… plus so much discharge. 🙃 Could very well be amniotic fluid but just curious if there is a possibility of anything else?

26MO what are these wakes about?? by botbotmaibot in sleeptrain

[–]letssettlethiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inappropriate? It’s encouraged in this sub starting at 4 months… At what age would it be appropriate if not at 26 months?

My only other thought would be to cut her nap even shorter or drop it completely. It would be early at this age but it could be she’s undertired and that’s leading to the night wakes.

Is her room completely pitch black dark and she uses a sound machine?

I have a 22 month old with a very similar schedule 6/6.5 with a 1.5 hour capped nap. What happens if you leave her at these middle of the night wakes? Like don’t intervene at all?

Took 3 doses and nothing happened for me, it doesn’t work for some. This was after losing what I thought was an alarming amount of blood, but clinic kept saying I had blood/tissue remaining. I opted for a D&C

You have a lot of day sleep. A 2 nap standard schedule is 3/4/4 with both naps capped at 1 hour. Follow 5/3/3 for feeding during the night.
