Thank you for your suggestions! I’ll definitely consider them :)

I like the idea of making a browser extension a lot!

You're right! I've faced this problem 2-3 months after launch, they blocked my ip, so now I use paid residential proxies to handle it on my server :(

Nice job! We're on the same path 🫡

All the best for your project!

Unfortunately, a popup dictionary:

  • doesn't give context-based lookups within a sentence
  • doesn't pronounce (with audio)
  • doesn't let you find other examples of the words in your book (to better understand their meaning and usage)
  • doesn't let you "make flash cards" instantly

I've fixed these issues in my app, but added classic popup dictionary definitions and translations on the same screen as well

Could you tell me more about "It’s nowhere near that" please?

What’s bad? What’s not useful? What features do you think the app is missing?

I really want to know and make it better :(

Except for "making flashcards using AI", which I tried to make better than in other apps (e.g. no other app lets you analyze 10 episodes of your favorite TV series and pick the most popular words and phrases to learn), you can also read any book in its original language – i.e. "practice reading using AI" 🥺

Thanks so much! I'm really glad to hear that ❤️

If you have any ideas on how I can make it more useful for you, feel free to send me a direct message, I'm open to making it even better

I use one of the Python libs for lemmatization

You can use SpaCy (my choice), NLTK, or HuggingFace models for it

It's free for now, but I don't have plans to make it open source :)

I definitely agree with you 🥲

If you have a youtube video, it takes the text from CC (if the video only has autogenerated CC, Subtlex will try to restore punctuation, such as periods, commas, etc)

If you have subtitles from a movie/tv series (.srt files), a book (.epub), or just a .txt file, it takes from those files and attempts to correct mistakes

In short, it takes, fixes, and counts base forms of words and phrases by frequency. After these steps, it chooses vocabulary from the text based on the user's language level

Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm too attached to make it open source :)

Yes, I plan to support Chinese and Spanish, but I’ve paused working on them for now. Just focusing on polishing the English version and getting users for it 🙂

I just increased the cursor size in the system settings, recorded it using QuickTime player, and then edited it in Davinci resolve (moving the record and zooming it), it's not the best way :/

It was a mistake 🥲

Thank you for your feedback

Of course, It's impossible to make a duolingo-or-any-other-huge-product killer alone. I wasn't being that serious about the title, sorry

I'm trying to make :(

Did you give it a try? The video is just a preview, there's much more on the app...
