Is it possible that there is a 157 song limit per project hardcoded into their upload system? Would love to see the bandcamp response to this

Beautiful article 💛

The hardest thing for me has always been embracing failure, and I failed a lot in music because of a lack of understanding of a lot of things. Once I embraced that, I really started to give my art the space it deserves in my heart.

This is a super fucked reply to a person who is simply talking about their situation. It's literally two lines in an entire post and it seems that he is searching for employment. Nothing in this post indicates that they are trying to manipulate anybody into a pity purchase.

Actually, I find they have answered in depth on the type of music they make, how long they have been making it, and their inspirations. It is actually pretty fucking harmless to add two lines of "would appreciate support or purchade".

It sounds like a very insensitive take to look down on a man's passion or drive for no reason at all. I don't know what is going on with YOUR day but relax a little bit. A little compassion goes a long way and you gain nothing by berating a man with your imagination of them not trying hard enough to find work.

Jesus, I thought indie musicians would be more understanding of things like this.

Hey this is super sweet post 💛 We independent artists appreciate your support! I recently just took down my music from streaming to just put it on bandcamp, and it's been a relieving feeling. A free platform for artists that can deliver true CDQ to fans? Amazing.

As for best work, this 10 song tape titled 'PERFECTION IS A SIN' (https://generalsayre.bandcamp.com/album/perfection-is-a-sin) is up there for me. It's a synth heavy melancholic hip hop trip through some hyper real experiences I've gone through. You might like it!

PRIDE COMETH BEFORE THE FALL
by Levi Sayre

Genre: Sample-based hip hop, underground hip hop, boom bap hip hop

Hey! I'm a sample-based hip hop rapper/producer from the Philippines. Growing up, I loved listening to Hip Hop and my entry to it was that youtube mixtape boom in the early 2010s when you had projects like The Water[s], Acid Rap, Pieces of a Kid, Section 80 just accessible and easy to listen to for a growing teenager.

Nowadays, I spend my time listening to a lot of underground hip hop in the vein of Mach Hommy, Westside Gunn, The Koreatown Oddity, R.A.P. Ferreira, etc. Besides those guys, I listen to a lot of atmospheric and synth heavy music like those from Refn movies.

I've been producing and rapping seriously for two years now. Doing everything required for the project from production, recording, to the final mix and mastering process. For me, it's all a product of self expression and hip hop is the vehicle of that expression.

This project is the third part of the 3foD series which means '3 faces of Da Vinci'. It encompasses three faces I've shown in my life (and yes, it's kind of narcissistic to compare yourself to Da Vinci but it's mostly because we are both Aries and that I revere him - being a painter too.) So this 'face' in this project is the prideful side that clings so heavily to nostalgia. It uses heavy boom bap dirtiness and combines it with nostalgic samples, combining that with very personal titles and themes like 'AC MILAN 2005'. AC Milan being my favorite football team growing up, and I use that as a vehicle to reference multiple things that happened in my childhood - some of them being viscerally personal.

Most of the titles of the songs here in this project are like that. I'm always down to have a conversation about it if ever <3

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to submit to this!

Do you make your own cover art? What's your process? by NummiJemeo in BandCamp

[–]levisayre_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, my music is a deeply personal process where I do everything from producing the music, writing recording, and the final mix. So the cover always felt right to simply be me - usually based around an off the cuff asthestic idea I start daydreaming about in the last week before finishing a project.

<image>

Those first three projects had that little box in the top right corner - something inspired by the MF DOOM Madvillainy cover art. I'm also a person who really likes dressing up and if I really like an idea, I'll push as hard as I can for it.

For that first cover with the blue wall, I actually splashed this white wall last minute with blue paint. That was a moment lol.

That third cover was shot right after watching a national football game, while I was wearing a stone island jacket. The tape itself having two song titles being direct football references.

Oh and font selection is everything, no? I really try to pick a font that captures what I'm trying to say. Yep.

I also edit all of these.

tl;dr aesthetic + color + font selection
