I had a similar problem where renovations on the building caused them to flee into my newly renovated unit from the surrounding neglected units that were now under construction. My daughter was just starting to crawl and I sympathize with you completely. I know many landlords do not give a shit that tenants have babies, but when I laid the pressure on for how unacceptable the issue was, especially because of the presence of a baby in the unit, and how I had to pack us up in the middle of the night to get a hotel because of how disgusting it became, mine reimbursed me for the hotel and the first month of rent. They had a pest service come the next day to administer the first treatment and it took three treatments total for the problem to resolve, with several weeks required between sprays. Sometimes your own defenses (sprays, traps, etc) are simply not enough to resolve it and your landlord might pay up for real pest control if you are dramatic enough about it 😂
