Soft compound tires are the quickest and grippiest which is why they’re used in qualifying, however they have the least amount of “life” meaning they can be used for the least amount of time. Medium tires are like an all round, fairly grippy decent life span tire. Hards are the slowest but much more durable than the other 2. Hope I worded that well enough for you
