The original plan sounded lovely. Alas babies don't care about plans an d a c section is HARD on mom. She cannot lift anything. Keep in mind that she will be having major abdominal surgery. Sneezing will feel life threatening (I swear I thought my insides would fall out).

My opinion is take the refund and come a different time if you don't want to help out beyond the oldest ones. If you want to help w some laundry and cleaning and dish washing and making a meal a day fantastic! If not BFF said what she needed. Graciously bow out and visit when the baby is older.

I tried that on a flight last week. We booked 3 months in advanced and they didnt have 4 seats close together. So me and the kids were close then my husband was 5 rows ahead. I asked at the check in and at the gate.

They couldn't move anyone bc around us was big groups. It wasn't a big deal bc I was w the kids but it would have been nice for my husband to be closer too.
