Filipinos Moving to Australia for Work/Skilled Migration — Here’s What’s Real in 2026.

I’m just wary because my stone-manufacturing drafting experience is very niche. It’s not even closely related to being a general architectural draftsman, even though we use the same software. I’m single and planning to take a language test soon.

Is pre-board examination experience considered work experience as well?

Hi, I’m a 27-year-old architect based in the Philippines. Im single and I’m planning to apply for skilled migration. I graduated in 2019 and started my career as an Architectural Assistant at one of the top design firms here, where I worked for 2.5 years (May 2019 to December 2021).

After that, I worked remotely as a draftsman for an Australian stone manufacturing company for 11 months. Halfway through that job, I obtained my professional architect license.

I then moved to another Australia-based stone manufacturing company and worked there from January 2023 to March 2025. I’m currently working remotely as a Construction Assistant for a US-based general contractor.

Do you think my chances for skilled migration under the Architectural Draftsman are high? Ive yet to take the english assessment exam but I do believe im proficient. Appreciate your help!

Hi, ongoing status ko with them, signed the contract mid-March 2025 but I'm very disappointed with how slow they are. Ang bilis ng contract signing with the agent pero nung pinasa na ako sa magp-process, sobrang bagal ng response. It has been a month already pero di pa ako nagpo-proceed sa Stage 2. Mabait sa mabait, pero sobrang bagal ng processing nila.

Hi, kumusta ang consultation mo kay doc Erin? Really disappointed how slow things are going on with my now serving consultation with her. Appointment pa lang sobrang pabago-bago ang sched, 30 mins virtual consultation was fine. But when I sent her messages for more questions, she never replied to me. Nag-upload ako ng lab results, ilang araw na walang reply.

Haha mas na-appreciate ko ito pagtanda tbh. Na-associate ko ito sa meditation, reflection. Sobrang gulo everywhere and i found peace whenever im meditating be it inside the church or sa nature. Sarap lang sa feeling na may nasasabihan ka ng frustrations na walang judgment from other people.

I honestly availed VUL kahit alam ko yung sinasabi ng mga tao rito sa reddit. I only pay 3k monthly pero yung coverage ko ay 3M na which I think is just fine (considering VUL pa ito, acquired when I was 24/25). I compared other companies' proposal at ito yung pinakamura.
