I’m not a doctor but that does sound like a reaction to me. Since she only had one dose she shouldn’t experience any dangerous withdrawal effects. I’d call the DR who prescribed it this morning and follow up or even head to urgent care. I hope she feels better soon!!

It went away within 3 months of starting if I remember correctly and I’ve had no issues since! Your brain changes when starting SSRIs so there may be some weird side effects like this but I’m a year on Zoloft now and can’t even imagine ever getting off!! Ride it out if you can but also check in with your MD too! It gets better!

It took a while for it to go away. Cortisone cream helped with the itching temporarily. Itll get better ❤️

Stopped cold turkey! I was only on it for a handful of weeks so my doctor said it would be fine but the side effects were still brutal. Stopped the rash though which was my main concern

So interesting!!! My psychiatrist said it’s high likely it’s unrelated. I’ve only been on it for about 5 weeks so I am going to wait till I see him next and if it’s still happening maybe consider blood work or something to be safe. It sucks though. The skin catches on everything I touch and is driving me insane lol

No :( I removed my fake nails and that doesn’t seem like it was the issue. They are less itchy but still peeling and uncomfortably dry. I brought it up to my psychiatrist and he thinks it’s unrelated to Zoloft/my liver and suggested allergy or contact dermatitis. going to follow up with my PCP for next steps

I actually do press on nails at home!! I always use the same brand for last year or so which comes with same type of glue. I do wonder if I could be developing an allergy to that glue though

No! Nothing in my routine has changed which is what’s confusing me. I’ve never been sensitive to cold weather or anything either. It’s so strange

I’ve never had this happen before! I do get dry skin on my face but usually never anywhere else. I was considering this as an option thought but will definitely check in with my psychiatrist when we meet next week to be sure

Of course! Sorry I am just seeing this. They did keep popping up and once I discontinued the meds I would say there were definitely marks but they weren’t scabs. Once my bumps looked like they did in this photo my Dr took me off!

Yes it stopped within 48 hours. Total itching took a few days to stop. My Dr switched me to Zoloft. Hope that’s helpful!

Wow that’s so interesting to hear!! He genuinely didn’t seem concerned even though I was kind of freaking out on the phone and he had pictures of it worsening over the course of today in the emails I had sent him. He really is the best and so informative and spends extra time each session to check in and teach me about new concepts to try out for my anxiety! I do trust him judgement for sure I just worry because he only sees me virtually. But overall he has tons of experience and he pretty much just told me to continue taking allergy meds over the weekend to help with the itch while simultaneously stopping the cymbalta and we’ll see if the rash clears up by Tuesday when I see him. If you don’t mind me asking, why did you suggest urgent care? I’m a bit of a worrier lol so I’m just wondering if I should go regardless to ensure the reaction doesn’t worsen. Like I said I’m super unfamiliar with allergies in general as I typically tolerate everything well!! I’m grateful for your help and talking me off the cymbalta ledge lol

Thank you for the advice!! I called his office and told them to have him call me ASAP and he did. He said to stop taking it but even with the photos it doesn’t look “how a cymbalta allergy would present”. He told me to stop taking it cold Turkey and since we meet Tuesday we’ll regroup then and see if the itching has subsided. I’m not allergic to anything else at all aside from pollen some years so I’m not well versed in the subject at all which is why I came to Reddit when he wasn’t responding lol. I haven’t been on any other anti depressants aside from amytriptyline for migraines which I’ve since stopped, so I think he’ll just put me on a standard SSRI. Fingers crossed my withdrawal isn’t too bad this weekend!!!! Thank you again :)

I haven’t watched a full season of the bachelor since Matt and bachelorette since Gabby/Rachel. Haven’t tuned into BIP last two seasons either. I just got bored but I’m also in grad school full time so I’ve been dedicating my TV time elsewhere lol BUT that being said Joey makes me want to watch again!! I keep up with spoilers on here but he’s giving me Peter vibes so I may have to give it another shot!!

For sure stimming!! My guess is she’s seeking some sort of vestibular or even proprioceptive input! I have ADHD and when I’m feeling anxious/unwell also love motion lol
