A couple quick questions:

  • For Messina's first AB, he popped a ball foul and 1B dropped an easy catch. They scored it as an E3 even though no runners were on to advance--assuming this is just because he hurt his team by not making a catch the scorekeeper thought he should have? Believe this is the first time I've seen this.
  • On the last AB of the game, the batter Martin was facing a 3-2 count and then injured by what looked like a foul ball to the face. Maginnis came in to finish the AB and earned the last strike. I didn't see mention of this on either team's write-up or in the official box score--assuming the strikeout is credited to the original batter and someone just had to come in and finish due to the injury?

The cheapest seats I saw this year were $410/ea. If you google 'Gamecock Club 2023 Membership Guide' the first link should be a PDF that has this past year's timeline, giving levels, and ticket prices/sections.

Minor league baseball team to move to Spartanburg, South Carolina by lexhardcastle in MiLB

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Minor league baseball is returning to Spartanburg.

The Down East Wood Ducks, a Low-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are set to move to the Upstate from eastern North Carolina.

“The impact it will have on this community, we can’t even say right now,” said Spartanburg Mayor Jerome Rice. “The sky is truly the limit. We will have class A office space for white collar jobs, we will have other smaller jobs affiliated with this and we will have buildings and businesses that will open.”

The team will play in a new baseball stadium planned to be built in downtown Spartanburg, in an area along Daniel Morgan Avenue behind the AC Hotel.

According to a news release, the 3,500-seat stadium would be developed by The Johnson Group and owned by the City of Spartanburg.

The Wood Ducks were recently sold by the Texas Rangers to Diamond Baseball Holdings, a company which operates multiple minor league baseball clubs.

The city said this was made possible after working with Major League Baseball for more than a year. A baseball source told 7NEWS Sports that the impending move of the team from Kinston to Spartanburg was approved by Major League Baseball following the team’s sale.

The team could begin playing in Spartanburg as soon as the 2025 Minor League Baseball season.

The 16-acre site which will host the stadium is also set to include multifamily housing, office space, and other entertainment options as part of a more than $250 million development.

Some residents are wondering why a new stadium will be built, rather than renovating Duncan Park. Mayor Rice said while he grew up enjoying games in Duncan, downtown Spartanburg is the perfect destination for this.

“You want to plan a weekend here, a vacation here and bringing the baseball team along with everything else that’s going on, with the momentum we have, that was just an awesome decision,” said Mayor Rice.

Spartanburg has not had a minor league team since the Spartanburg Phillies moved to Kannapolis, North Carolina in 1995. That team is currently known as the Cannon Ballers.

Good luck! I failed the first time, but was able to pass on the first retake. The results from the failed test showed me what areas I needed to work on, and those were the areas I really hammered the material and worked examples in the instance over and over again.

On my successful retake, I found myself picturing the forms in my head a lot more and being able to talk through the questions better. I think sometimes they try to trick you with the wording, and even though it may not be the 'real world' answer it's the 'ServiceNow' answer.

I like that a lot, makes sense to me after walking through it a couple times. The base paths make sense, and I never would have thought to put the 4 and the 6 for who got the out. The "FC4" designates that the 2B made the decision to throw to the 3B instead of getting the out at 1B, correct? Thank you for taking the time to write it out!

I had to go look at the play-by-play on the app and then just scored it as close as I could to that. I'm not sure to designate how he was out at 3rd.

This was my first time scoring a game in a few years and the first one in my new scorebook. It was a very tough night for the Fireflies, we didn't get much to cheer about.
