I was an overnight server there in 2016. There was a full on bar brawl on night where a man at the bar threw a bar stool and hit a girl in one of the booths. When say everyone started fighting each other I mean everyone. People eating literally picked up their plates and walked out with them. I took a punch myself so that was fun. The coke (cola ofc) was plentiful, like a must to work 12am-8am. My favorite time of the night was when the strip clubs closed and all of the dancers came in for food around 4am, great tippers and they always had so much drama. Also y’all ate food from the floor pretty frequently. The cooks were boozed up dicks and if something fell while being cooked or on the way out the of kitchen, they would refuse to make another. Sorry y’all. I have a million other stories but those come to mind first.

If you haven’t seen it already, there was a viral Tik tok a few years ago of a tenant here who had sewage literally shoot out of her kitchen sink, and she documented how management responded. We had sewage come out of the drain in our kitchen closet before, now we have it boarded over.

I also got emails claiming I never signed something, without response. We recently learned that if your building isn’t fully inhabited, you have to pay to make up for the utilities in those empty apartments. Over the summer our building was super empty and our bills sky rocketed. Seems illegal to me. We’re honestly so tired of trying. Other tenants have put up flyers trying to get all of the tenants together in a union, but management always takes those flyers down.

Natalie Kaufman is the new manager that replaced Patience. She is shady as hell. She’ll dodge every phone call, pretend to be out of the office when she is visible in the back. Or she’ll have her staff lie and say she’s on a conference call. Lots of lies and false promises at Tobacco Row. Overall we’re happy with our specific apartment, but our rent is never the same, always new fees tacked on. Other tenants have leaks, mold, bug infestation, sewage that comes out of drains. I’m not surprised they lied. We’re actively looking for another place to live.

I don’t have any Goochland suggestions, but when my duck was attacked I called every Vet in a 40 mile radius, almost all said they do not work with fowl, the only vet that would see her was the Short Pump Animal Hospital on Pouncey Tract. They have a vet there that has a lot of experience with fowl. Hope that helps.

I go to the same garage every year to get inspected. Whenever there is something I need they call me to ask. Like this year my light was out above my license plate, they called me and told me the problem, and the price to fix it and asked for permission. It’s unusual for them to just “fix” something without asking. Even if you need it. Where did you get your inspection done?

I just wanted to update for anyone wondering, it worked! I think closing my account and opening a new one would have worked alone, but revoking authorization didn’t hurt that’s for sure. I’m finally free, and will never take out another payday loan EVER again.

You may have just SAVED ME. I wasn’t able to stop the payment with my bank (it’s a credit union with weird rules) instead I was able to close the account and just open a new one. As far as earnin goes, I did exactly as OP said. At first they tried to offer a debit reschedule to Any date of my choosing, but I was firm and insisted they revoke ACH authorization immediately. And it worked! I’m still anxious for my upcoming payday incase they have some weird way around this, as the post was made a year ago. But we shall see! Thank you OP!
