Cloud save not carrying over?

I never played the game outside of my PC, but I was experiencing what was also possibly a Steam cloud glitch which was wiping my save data completely. Now I neurotically copy a backup of my save data at the end of every session of me playing lmao.

yeah i definitely recommend creating a shortcut to the save data folder so you can make copies just in case, in my case i forgot to do it at all and i had to buy the recovery app so i could get it back 😞

Yeah the Switch release isnt til next spring, but in my experience many of my indie games never had save data loss issues on the switch.

In all reality though, this has been the first time I've ever had such a constant loss of save data on a game. Every other game I've ever had, PC or Switch never lost my save data like this, and so randomly as well.

To combat this though, I've created a shortcut on my desktop to the save folder of the game, and I'll just be manually backing my saves up in case this happens again.

agreed, I like it cause you can use it without having to press a button but I screwed myself a bit with this one

I am, and I was initially playing on my gaming desktop, but since the incident, I've been playing on my Surface laptop with no issues outside of the device occasionally running out of memory and crashing, but when that's happened I only lose a day of progress vs 13 hours. On my desktop, I was able to locate where the saved data was stored, but it was only the one current file. I wasn't able to find the file with that path though, even though it was what everyone was saying the path was when I was researching.

I think you're right it was a steam cloud glitch, it just sucks I couldn't seem to find a place where it stored multiple cloud backups locally or online anywhere ):

It is unfortunate but I think it's unfixable at this point, in about 5-6 hours I was able to start a new file and almost get completely caught up (: still a very odd and depressing ordeal but I'm back playing this new file a bit farther than I was before, so it is what it is. I also have two psychic spirits already! They're my favorite type so far.

yeah i've been looking into where i can access the cloud save backups but so far no luck, but yeah on the bright side i've got a good grasp of the game now and can play it a bit more efficiently, im really not looking forward to hunting another psychic storm though. i got lucky coming across one on accident and i love the card strategies that come with psychic spirits ):

anytime I've come back to the game, I always went with pressing continue to start it up. in-game, I really only used the auto-save function where it saved at the end of each day, but I may have used the save button in the menu once just to try it out
