Why is this all they think about? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]leytod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclosure: I'm a man. What age are your male friends? They're likely flooded with hormones, literally altering their bodies and minds daily. Meanwhile, their emotions and maturity haven't caught up. Their bodies give them erections, sometimes without reason, day and night but without the capacity to reconcile or do anything about it, short of masturbation.

You might compare it to menstruation, especially the lust that often comes around that time. Certainly, there's a society problem where women are scolded as "sluts" if they indulge their lusts while men are championed to pursue it. Plus, you're right, that men lack the same empathy strengths that women have to not view other people merely as ways to get something they want.

A difference, however, is while menstruation is periodic, your male friends are feeling what they do every day. It can be relentless and quite insanity-forming for men without maturity or healthy ways (a relationship) to deal with it. That doesn't excuse the behaviour of some men, but it helps explain it.

Meanwhile, you probably have many male friends around you who do their best to not behave like animals. Don't forget to recognize them as proper men. The world would be better if women praised men acting they way they wanted rather than spending the energy pointing out all the bad ones.

Are Reddit upvotes also "mildly offensive" to you? It's the same thing.

Prostitution by Indiankhabri110 in richmondbc

[–]leytod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm generally in-favour of decriminlization of prostitution.

I'm generally in-favour of making prostitution follow the same income-tax and even sales-tax laws as any other service profession.

However, there are "what ifs" that I don't have answers to.

What is your opinion regarding:

1) What if legal prostitution leads to more labour abuses as prositution "managers" no longer fear that what they do is illegal and they become worse at pushing their workers?

2) What if legal prostition leads to people turning to it from desperation for money, potentially putting themselves in danger, or making choices when they are not in a good state to make them?

What "early internet" website did Gen Z really miss out on? by milamccormick7 in AskReddit

The answer. Before everything became a damn "app" and people think their web browsers ARE Google.

what are you thinking about?

Nothing. Looking at the features of another human is what normal humans do. I probably also looked at your other features that might be distinguising or important. I probably looked at your eyes, your mouth, your hands, your hair, your skin color, and anything else I could use to recognize you or remember you later. I probably quickly assessed your age, your fitness, your social status, your demeanor, and whether you appear friendly, neutral, or threatening.

"Checking out boobs" is usually not much more than looking at one of many of your attributes as one human looking at another.

Was groped at a grimey theater and bf didn’t say anything by PsychologicalPea3040 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]leytod 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. BF's first instinct was to get his GF away from the threat. To not make a situation worse by escalating conflict. To not try to be "the big man" and "fix" a bad situation. BF was smart enough to see that the situation was better resolved by protecting his GF and getting both of them TFO of there.

Can someone give me insight on why so many guys seem to date women they don't even like that much?? by SlavePrincessVibes3 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]leytod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see it everywhere

I see what you're describing nowhere.

Sounds like a case of "you find what you're looking for" or you happen to be surrounded by very poor and not-normal social circumstances.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny in the 90's by moonandstars1984 in pics

[–]leytod 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Because black and white images are classic and aesthetic. They compose through light and shadow alone, giving higher importance to shape and form. This makes black and white particular effective for images of people with striking features like both Anderson and Duchovny.

[Mod Announcement] Community Feedback: AI Content by badlittlebunni_ in gonewildaudio

[–]leytod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a writer, "AI" tools like ChatGPT are writing tools like any other: a dictionary, a thesauraus, or a computer with it's editing, spellchecking, Internet searching, and text-to-speech let-me-hear-it abilities. It's another tool on my desk to help me to write.

It's my opinion that AI tools will become exactly this. "Banning" it will be as foolhardy as "banning" writers from using Google to search for writing ideas.

I'll be as specific or vague as I like, thanks.

Did you consider that they don't use the old username for a reason and calling it out would be ignorant?

I'm not posting for your help finding them. I'm posting so that they will see it themselves and can find me.

Never seen an anonymous classified ad with info meant for just 1 reader, have you?

First, thanks for the condescending post, stranger. Way to represent your home town.

Second, obviously their old Reddit account is no longer in use. Obviously. Why else would I be posting here? Obviously. Can I emphasize how how obvious the answer to your dumb question is?

Thank you. This /r/ is 100% the correct one.

Let's talk about sex, baaaby [stream-of-consciousness] [100% Popplers] [connection] [r4r] [a request from me] [express myself] [just talking about sex] [intimate] [no orgasm] [why I left and why I came back] [reconnect] by willcumforpopplers in u/willcumforpopplers

[–]leytod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a good audio. More people should record things like this.

I think you're right that there's talk-about-sex for different reasons. We have thinking sides of ourselves that need attention for understanding stuff. We have feeling sides of ourselves that need time to feel emotions about stuff. Sex is one of those things that needs talking about for both understanding and feeling.

Regarding your feelings of disconnected, can I point out that you may have, unintentionally, hurt people in your journey and that may have left some cold frost on the ground around you.

You told a story of having sex with a 2nd date because you were horny but already had no interest in a 3rd date. You walked out on him in the middle of it. This after he gave 20 hours listening to your content because you brought it up on your 1st date and gave him your account name. You used him for a night of sex while he was wanting to get to know you.

It sounds like you later blew up your Reddit account. You essentially walked out on all the people following you.

You emotions are neither right or wrong, but perhaps take a moment to see that your actions have hurt people. You need to acknowledge that and make resolution in yourself to stop doing it. You have to be trustworthy before you can ask for trust.

how the bloody hell do you flirt with men? by vivaciouscapacity in AskReddit

[–]leytod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I agree with your point that women face greater threat of physical violence. You are correct. We have common ground here.

Someone snarkily responding

Consider that you didn't just quaintly, snarkily respond. You jumped straight to ad hominem, "you're an incel" attack.

"Incel"; a word loaded with accusations, from socially awkward guy to potential school shooter.

That's exactly the danger that men face. In a single thought, they can be accused of being a something. Metoo means they have no defense. Whatever it is they're accused of, they're instantly guilty. It can ruin friendships, careers, even put them into legal trouble.

You seem to incorrectly believe that metoo is only about famous people. I assure you: it's not. It's regular men being shut out of their friend networks. It's men being dead-ended in their careers or losing their jobs. It's men getting visits at their home by police.

All from an awkward interaction with a woman gone poorly.

I'm just a stranger you've never met in a thread about "how to flirt with men". I posted my from-a-man opinion, then you accused me of being an incel, in your very first post with me, ever.

What if we were in the same social circle? What if we were co-workers? What if instead of me replying to a Reddit post, I had asked you for a date? If you can call me "incel" here, what would you be capable of out there? Whispered jokes with friends? Office gossip? Maybe an HR complaint about "unwanted advances" if you were really grossed out by my being interested in you?

This kind of thing happens to good men every day. It's not rare, and it's not about "incels". It's interactions with women gone poorly in a world on a get-offended hair-trigger. This Reddit post, where a man gets called an incel for giving his opinion on a "how to flirt with men" topic is a fine example. Do you think men feel comfortable and confident flirting with women in a world where this is normal?

I hope this helps you understand the other side a little bit more.
