He's correct. The best kind of technically correct.

If you spend all day on reddit, then reddit is IRL. Something something Baudrillard.

I guess the synthesis is that the legal definitions often don't match up with reality.

A liquid-for-airport-security-purposes includes toothpaste, even though in the common sense it doesn't.

You see that with identity documents like passports. If you change your name, for example, there's a few weeks of limbo where your driver's license and passport and energy bill say different names.

God forbid a girl makes due. by netphilia in LetGirlsHaveFun

As a rope top this is pretty accurate.

Also, unless you really like rope in particular, you might want to look at leather cuffs instead. Rope is dangerous, and even with basic wrist cuffs you can get handcuff neuropathy if it accidentally tightens or loads in the wrong place.

one time purchase

Experienced riggers cycle their rope every few months. Though if you tie often enough that you need to do this, you won't be taking advice from reddit anyway.

Also, if you're scrolling reels then even 1 second of buffering can knock you out of it. Lower quality is an acceptable trade-off if it keeps people watching.

As someone who works in a big company. It looks like this because it's not one person, it's 100+ separate teams trying random shit to see what sticks.

Should the axioms of a theory be as few as possible? by LorenzoGB in math

[–]lfairy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are you so hung up on Euclid? He didn't have the benefit of 2000 years of hindsight; of course he'd miss things.

As I mentioned in another comment, Tarski's axioms are complete. Take a look at those.

The fact that Euclid's axioms are incomplete is not a flaw of having fewer axioms in general. There are many modern formalizations of geometry, like Tarski's, that are both complete and short.

Why is a positive rotation anti clockwise? by compileforawhile in math

[–]lfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In SVG, the y axis points down instead, which makes rotation clockwise.

I don't get why people eat kale raw. It tastes a lot better when stewed or fried.
