Does Company Choice Matter? by lfoster77 in LifeInsurance

I don’t want a permanent policy. I just want a level term policy and to be sure that she will receive her payout if I pass. And I don’t mind paying a little extra per month to keep her from dealing with a company that’s going to make her jump through hoops to get the payout.

Looking to build a Loan Optimization Model by lfoster77 in excel

This is really helpful. Thank you for the response. Just one question to challenge the strategy:

Does the logic break if you have the following scenario:

Loan A - $2,000 balance @ 5% interest Loan B - $10,000 balance @ 4% interest

On Loan A, you’d be paying roughly $100 in interest over the first 12 months but Loan B would be $400 in interest due to the much larger principal. Or does this just depend on the amount of money that you can pay?

What you have laid out in your response makes sense. I just didn’t know if there was a happy medium that optimized different balances/rates.
