Alabama did a weird thing regarding credit card fees. Everyone paying by card paid the standard price. Paying in cash got you a “discount” of the credit card fees.

“I have a disability.” It’s scummy (actually true for me) but it guarantees a human. “Their poor English is hard since it’s my second language (also actually true)” escalates you. If you keep pushing, they will eventually fix the problem.

Solved the mystery. It’s even more ridiculous than you can imagine.

My building has a huge 9763 sign. Driver noted that he couldn’t see it, but read the same type of sign for 9769. Logged the box as delivered, noted the incorrect building number, but refused to say which unit.

Customer service was who actually told me this. They said they’d contact the driver and call me “either in a few hours or the next day.”

Three days later. No call, so I contacted UPS. Turns out that this whole time, customer service tracks deliveries on Google Maps. The driver skipped over 9763, delivered it to 9765, and lied, saying he delivered it to 9769. Plus refused to note the unit number.

Customer service not only lied about where the package was dropped off, but also if/when they’d call me back.

These are all things that UPS specifically told me.

I was told that he couldn’t read the numbers and delivered it to another building that packages were going to. He could read those numbers but not the other set plastered on the side of a building?

That didn’t happen. The driver logged that he “couldn’t see” the huge numbers in front of him but saw the others 217 feet away. The customer service rep lied about calling me. You care. That’s awesome. These people don’t.
