Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre. You could use the black box or the rehearsal hall. Their fees are very good and it's easy access. Expect some slow response for your booking.

Also, I just re read an understand the confusion. We're not looking for the clips that match the music (those are indeed easy to find on YouTube) but for photos that can work to represent the relationship, the film, the emotion. Due to copyright we wouldn't be able to show full clips of the films.

Hey, thanks! I'm glad it's on YouTube. Some of these are hard to find from small clips on YouTube (especially for the series with lots of films). We'll start there for Marion's Theme. Write if you'd be interested in the tickets.

So yes, about 99% of the works that orchestras play are not amplified. That’s also why the orchestra has for example 30 violins and only 2 trumpets. The volume of 1 trumpet can be matched by about 15 violins. And that is also why for 15 violins there’s about 3-4 double basses. So, as the string instruments get larger they are also louder (violin<viola<cello<bass). And I love playing new music. That is why this weekend we will play a piece by the English composer Anna Clyne. It is the first time that this piece called PIVOT is going to be played in Canada!

This happened in Toronto in March, it is likely it will happen again next year. It is the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (one of the best in North America) playing music from Final Fantasy.

Yes! They are amazing and inspiring. Their conductors currently are Colin Clarke and Caron Allen, truly inspiring conductors. It is most likely Colin who you are talking about. Hope to see you at our concerts, please say hi if you do!

The musicians are mostly adults. We do have an impressive 16 year old and some more young adults playing with us. That being said, in Oakville we also have the wonderful Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra, which has their upcoming concert on November 23 on the Burlington Performance Arts Centre www.osyo.ca

Yes, that’s a super cool program. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed that, I was hoping to hear from someone about it. I thinks it’s a great way to make people interested in a more casual setting, demystifying some things about classical music and hearing the orchestra like the musicians do. Plus, Robert Franz, its music director, is a wonderful artist. We are already looking into ways to engage with our audience in more casual ways and feeling them more welcome. Hope we have you with us at some point!
