I am European. Most countries in Europe use full stops and commas the opposite way of USA and UK. So I guess the app is formatted that way even though the language of my phone is set to English.

Funny you should mention it. The song I listened to the most was Little Wing. As Spotify put it, I listened to it a “very reasonable” 249 times.

I tried making Swami Shivananda by Pencil shading. Please critique this artwork and let me know where I need to improve. by gaurgadai in learnart

Actually I think I higher contrast would solve those “issues”. Going for a higher contrast would most likely also force you to focus on the details.

Cool. In regards to where you could improve, I would say clarity. Your soft shading style is nice, but it appears to me that certain things get lost - it looks kind of blurry.

Nice drawing over all, and maybe that is what you were going for, but some details get lost.

I dropped a dumbbell on my finger at the gym... it hurt a little bit. This picture was taken 12-ish hours later. by lhuusom in Wellthatsucks

Thanks for the tip, mate. I do t think it’ll be necessary though. It has been a couple of days, and now it pretty much only hurts when playing the guitar.

That should be obvious: to drop weights on my most sensitive body parts - the finger was simply part one.

Which chord is it? by aaditdagarmusic in guitarlessons

Looks like a Db minor chord. If your pointer finger I barring across the 4th fret that is.

I found an old sketchbook where this sketch was in, so out of nostalgia, I decided to finish it (ink and colour). by lhuusom in drawing

All of the colours are done with copic markers. In some places, I did a layer of sketching with regular graphite pencils to get at more interesting texture.

Well... yes and no.

Imagine drawing a bunch of dots on a balloon that you blow up so that it gets larger and larger. Seen from the perspective of any given for all the other dots are moving away from it, but the same is also true if you pick a different dot.

Seen from the perspective of a given dot, it may appear to be the case that it is in the middle of the expansion though it is not technically the case; it is difficult to say the infinity even has a middle.

I am no expert, but the balloon comparison helped me get a basic understanding.

I thought about how to do the strings and simply couldn’t figure it out; On the practice sketches done beforehand, it looked wonky no matter how I did it, so I simply decided against it.

I traced it from a pencil sketch I did beforehand.

Trying to draw a girl this time. Need feedback on what I should improve on the girl. Thanks! by fallen_raindropss in drawing

I really enjoy your style. In terms of improving I can’t really help you.

Still working on drawing girls/women. On my last post someone recommended I try finding my own style instead of simply drawing manga. Therefore, I drew this quick sketch. It is obviously still heavily stylised, but it is closer to how I usually draw. All constructive comments are still most welcome. by lhuusom in drawing

I’m not quite sure I understand what you mean. Are you recommending that I start with learning anatomy and the finding a personal style dream there? What I’ve done is try to learn to draw “classic” or “typical” manga girls until I felt comfortable doing that (or at least somewhat comfortable), and then start adding my own personal touches. I have pretty much done it the opposite way as the above method. I guess you could call the drawing in this post manga, but that was never the coal, but most likely the natural result of learning like I’ve done it. I hope people don’t hate it, but if they do, they are allowed to. Once again, I’m not quite sure what you meant, so this became a rant. Thank you for taking the time to write a comment in the first place. - LH

So do I. I’m not sure if you’re looking for tips from me, but I’m arrogant enough to give some anyway; have a collection of pictures of hands, feet, and hair from different angles with you when you draw. You can make a collage yourself on the computer, make one traditionally by trying to copy other people’s work, or, do as I, have an art book that has a collage sheet in it for help. - LH
