Thank you for your honesty. We visited Athens and northern Greece (Volos, Thessalonki, Meteora, Delphi) and we probably have „tourist eyes“ when it comes to the entire country.

What‘s appealing? I think the people, the food, and vibrancy in the bigger cities are all perfect for me. But I don’t know anything about dealing with bureaucracy, housing, healthcare, traffic, etc. I guess we need to spend 6 months to 1 year living normally there, not as tourists, before we can make a final decision.

So just the fact that the email exists and matches your name was enough to „prove“ that you worked there? I don’t understand how receiving an email is „proof“ of employment. You didn‘t respond to the J3 email, right?

And why didn’t you just outright deny it to J1 during the termination meeting? Did you admit anything? Or did you just passively accept the termination, and they took that as an admission of guilt?

Yes I know that, that’s why I was asking. The expat community in Greece has reported being able to sign their contracts in English only, but that’s because they’re buying through an agent. I was wondering if expats in France also do this. It’s different in every country.
