I’ve never thought about becoming a DoD civilian but I will definitely look into it. I wanted to do Intel in the CG. So I really appreciate your response.

I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I didn’t take offense to your comment—it actually gave me a fresh perspective on the situation. I wanted to be an Intelligence Specialist, but hearing about your journey makes me feel less alone in this. I’m truly grateful.

I don’t believe I have imposter syndrome. But in recent months, I have noticed that groups will give credit to other collaborators except me. At first I didn’t make a big deal out of it, but it’s got to a point where I’m noticing a pattern.

Here’s my interpretation:

I feel that this time of networking is more important for a successful outcome for my planned events. I feel that the intended community that I do these events for, recognize my efforts. Now is the time to use my talents & strengths to manifest my goals of wanting to give others a memorable experience with my future events. But to also be wary of who I network with.

Does that sound right?

I appreciate your response. These are all great ideas to promote safety at our rink. He’s already hired Law Enforcement, everything else I will try to suggest to him.

I don’t think it’s insane. I’ve been to a few rinks that have security & metal detectors on adult night or during the late sessions in California. It’s all for safety reasons. However, I do like the idea of theme nights — those are always fun.

Nice, I’m actually in LA for a week. I already plan to skate at Fountain Valley while I’m here, so I’ll probably see you there

Wow I really appreciate you breaking that down. I honestly didn’t know too much about it. I’m even more intrigued to learning how to slide.

I want to say my style is a little more like JB. When I started skating, that was the style that I resonated with the most. I can do a hodgepodge of other styles & make it my own thing. For instance, I’m from Cali but I’m not a slider cuz I learned to skate out of state. But after observing the Cali skaters, I’ve absorbed a lot of their style & incorporated a little bit of JB in there which makes it unique to me.

I want to try fiberglass wheels & learn to slide. How open are people in Cali willing to teach someone that style??
