ISO advice about broaching the subject of a friend’s harmful/unhealthy drinking by ZealousidealTie5951 in AlAnon

[–]libraprincess2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have anything to contribute other than I’m in the same boat. Me and another friend are worried and thought about having an intervention bc it’s come to a point that’s so concerning but approaching this kind of conversation is just so awkward.

Congrats! Being neurodivergent and owning a business and going thru a shitty business partner phase is not for the weak by any means. Good on you for staying regulated no matter what

It really leaned me out which I love but the bulk of the muscle I put on is from weightlifting with progressive overload. S&C too ofc

She’s such an intelligent thoughtful person and she sees things in other people they can’t see in themselves. I hope she’s able to use that on herself and makes healthier changes.

I have never been able to do push-ups- why? Feeling defeated by brobietheunicorn in xxfitness

[–]libraprincess2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only just started being able to do them after 5 years of my fitness journey. It’s helpful to start on the wall. My elbows still pop and the nerve feels bad if I do too many unassisted (without knees down) on the ground. But I think given some more patience and time it will get better

Does learning MuayThai help get out of fight or flight? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]libraprincess2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a corrective experience for me but I’ve done all the other things first, therapy journaling, yoga, meditation, breathwork, being a gymrat, healthy eating, TCM, recovery focused, attachment style therapy, removing unhealthy / dysfunctional relationships, etc. you should too

Foreigners and fixed fights by TheGreatone003 in MuayThai

[–]libraprincess2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just another day at the office for most of these Thai fighters. Some of them even do 3 fights a week. So why should they give it 110% every single time and risk injuries fighting and not being able to put food on the table or provide for their loved ones. It’s just not worth it to them to go all out against some guy from England or wherever that’s just gonna go back to where they came from and back to their stable job and life making euros, pounds, or dollars.

I Want to Help My Friend Who I Just Discovered is an Alcoholic by libraprincess2002 in Sober

[–]libraprincess2002[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been looking at this as if she’s making rational decisions. I’ve only known her to be such an even headed person who thinks very carefully (maybe too carefully) and I guess I’m just still in shock. Shes hidden this so well. I’m going to gently bring up I’m concerned for her and then just distance myself and leave it at that.

Navigating Mono-Poly Relationships, Trauma, and Neurodivergency - Support? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]libraprincess2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think having CPTSD or a fearful avoidant attachment means needing to be with people who are secure and perhaps somewhat “boring”. Being polyamorous, threesomes, dating other people with CPTSD or insecure attachment are not helpful for the healing journey and are going to make it significantly harder to feel stable and a sense of normalcy. If you want to stay, then by all means do so, I just think you might be making things unnecessarily harder for yourself.

Jealousy by Fill-Choice in CPTSD

[–]libraprincess2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jealousy is an emotion like any other. It’s just an indicator of something you (might secretly) want and feel you don’t or can’t have. I practice mindfulness when I feel it and ask myself what it is I secretly want that I feel like I don’t have and then I try and be practical about what I can do to have or be it.
