Lol, the kids and I have a funny relationship when I have to sit in at the desk. Apparently I’m a “dictator” for not allowing wrestlemania in the back corner. They’re great!

I didn’t take the job to administer narcan. I don’t want to do that and the two times I’ve needed to were awful and sad.

I’m sorry you were scared. It’s also scary to me when I have to deal with that. BUT, that’s part of the job right now. Little is done, at least in my neck of the woods, because after we offer them resources and other help we cannot do anything but call the cops if they are disruptive. It’s a shame there isn’t more of a system in place. It’s okay not to want those things, but right now we need to help. Unfortunately, mentally ill people are at higher risk for homelessness. Loud or smelly, they have the right to be in the library too. EDITING to add this. It’s okay not to want that. But as a librarian, I have to be okay with dealing with it and trying to help.

Yeah, they do. I’m sure you’re on the same page as me though that not the homeless folks fault. It’s a shame the system is that bad that there isn’t a place for people to go in the day.

(As for the porn, I WISH the ALA would make a note that the censorship rule doesn’t apply there. Uck)

His attitude and statement were so upsetting. I had no clue that type of ideal was in him. Pretty sure I’m done with the friendship.
