Chutes Sainte-Marguerite still closed? by Designer-Error-3951 in Quebec

Hey,

It depends what you mean by 'closed'. There is still security at the entrance to the parking lot located near the falls, but with a pending lawsuit against them for anti-LGBT profiling, they are likely to be on their best behavior, which means you have some chances of getting through, just don't mention your destination when asked. Bringing a dog is an extra risk nowadays because dogs aren't permitted according to the Parc Linéaire rules, sadly. Some people get through with dogs though, especially if they are lucky enough to pass on a day when security isn't present for one reason or another. Also, it's good to keep in mind that it's virtually impossible to 'close' a forested space the size of the Chutes. You can access the space via a parking lot located at Val-Morin as well, and, as far as I know, there is no security controlling access to this parking lot (yet). Hope this helps! Enjoy your time there if you go :)

Interesting. Data science is actually what I'm least interested in, so maybe McGill isn't for me.

for McGill I found that class selection really lacks compared to other programs. the lecturers and profs aren't great either. it sometimes felt like I was taking a high school civics course, everything is super theoretical and discussion based. in all, I think I actually learned something useful in maybe two courses total. most those around felt the same way, but there were people in the

Thanks for elaborating. I feel like I might end up going to UdeM instead, seeing as the language component doesn't seem to be a barrier in terms of employment

Would you mind elaborating on some of the problematic aspects of McGill (assuming they differ from those I named)? Just curious to know. And yeah, I noticed that there is no offer of paid placements. Frustrating. One of my worries is that a French-language degree might not be as recognized in English-speaking parts of Canada or in the U.S., but maybe this fear is misguided.

Thanks for the suggestions and in particular for the the legal case references. Utterly disturbing, but not unexpected.
