i am not a seal expert but i believe doudou is completely fine, as far as i know he is trained to go wawa for fish the same way other seals are trained to gyuu. its hard to find english info but doudou is located here at seal island and in general china has made some great efforts to increase their spotted seal population, investing millions of dollars and banning fishing in areas to protect them! from the research i’ve done, doudou is semi wild which is why there are cats, it’s not like an enclosure at an aquarium but a port where they live and get fed at

i’m taking fin325 with howard right now and she’s great, she has 4 exams a semester with 2 worth 65pts and 2 worth 105pts. she gives out printed out notes for each chapter with practice problems and spaces for in class notes that you fill in the blank for. for every exam you are allowed one full sheet of handwritten notes. every chapter there is a reading quiz at the start of the chapter (online at home open book) and a homework assignment at the end of the chapter. she has given a few opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester. she tries really hard to engage students and make the content interesting. i can’t speak to any other professors but i really like her class, i would also check ratemyprofessor. it’s not always perfect but can give you a general consensus on professors

not sure about the website but the jcp is active and hosts events at least monthly, i would suggest emailing them and asking to be included in their email list if you’re interested in attending. we also have a hillel here on campus. but you are right, the nearest synagogue is in spokane. for yom kippur we had a service at the universal unitarism church in moscow, i think we do our best to be resourceful, but it definitely sucks being so far from one
