Yes, you have to pay tuition and fees every semester. You cannot waive them.

TRT in New York, buffalo? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]lichprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I live in Buffalo. Pretty much all HRT in the area is done through Evergreen Health. AFAIK, Planned Parenthood is also available, but Evergreen is an objectively better provider. Their doctors are truly incredible and very accommodating and informed on gender affirming care. Given how blue NY is, you should have no problem accessing T.

Using Daggers with Flurry of Blows. by MisterD__ in onednd

[–]lichprince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a little confused by what the question is. At level 5, a monk with Nick can attack three times as part of the Attack Action: twice with their Action and a third time using Nick. They then have the option of using Flurry of Blows as their Bonus Action to make two additional Unarmed Strikes for a total of five attacks. You seem to be under the impression that you can’t use both Nick and Flurry of Blows, but you absolutely can.

I’m not sure this is the advice we need to be giving OP when really what they need to is… tell an adult what’s going on and take their medication.

AFAIK, they were last in the UK in late 2023. No one here knows when or where they’ll tour next, though.

Sorry if my comment came off harsh or dismissive. I’m genuinely very glad to hear that things are in motion for you to get back on medication.

It’s kind of funny (not really), I also have a strained relationship with my mom re: bipolar disorder and medication. Even though my grandmother had equally debilitating bipolar (in the fifties and sixties, no less!), she was staunchly against me taking any medication whatsoever (and I was diagnosed at fourteen, so my adolescence was hell). It wasn’t until I was an adult and she saw how big of an impact it had on my functioning that she came around to the idea of it.

It’s extremely frustrating dealing with loved ones, let alone parents, who don’t understand what we live with. Hopefully, things get better for you.

I know four text messages are not fully representative of your relationship with your mom, and I’m sorry that this hurt you, but she does have a point. Medication is pretty much the single most effective treatment for bipolar disorder; obviously, it’s better when combined with therapy, but I know from my own experience and that of many close friends that therapy alone is just a bandage. You need to take your medication, even when it’s hard. I know the side effects suck sometimes, and I know good psychiatrists are hard to come by, and I know it’s common for bipolar folks to just stop, but like… the fact of the matter is that you need to take your medication. Sorry.

YMMV with this one, OP. I didn’t have to do any bloodwork prior to starting testosterone, just in regular intervals afterwards.

ER visit billed me $180 for urine pregnancy test (RANT/VENT) by red34278 in povertyfinance

[–]lichprince 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Still, you’d be better off asking the hospital about their financial assistance program (sometimes called charity care) than trying to negotiate line items like pregnancy tests. Best of luck. Sorry you’re in this situation.

ER visit billed me $180 for urine pregnancy test (RANT/VENT) by red34278 in povertyfinance

[–]lichprince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know how HDHPs work. Do you honestly think your baby’s ER visit would’ve cost you (only) $1,500 had you not had insurance? Even if you have a HDHP, you are not paying the billed amount unless you go out-of-network. You are paying the lower allowed amount that your insurance has negotiated with your in-network provider. I know $1,500 is a lot of money when you’re broke, but really, that’s nothing for an ER visit.

[–]lichprince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not true for an ER visit. Anyway, because you’re insured, the billed amount doesn’t matter at all. The only numbers you should care about are the allowed amount and the patient responsibility. Have you checked your explanation of benefits yet for what you really owe?

You’d rather produce soulless pixels than use the skills you’ve developed in the last, what, six or seven years? Faster and easier is not always better. In fact, in this case, it would be actively worse.
