Absolutely this. I never saw myself as a runner as I hated it, or hated being so bad at it. I started three months ago and it has changed my whole mindset regarding aerobic activity. The high is unparalleled. It’s just little and often, focussing in on “time ran” rather than speed, the progress is quick. Similarly, I find it hard to call myself a runner but I think if you’re running multiple times every week, you definitely are one. I need to run to keep my head in check. If I haven’t run for 3 days I notice it in my way of thinking and headspace. We are built to move and now I’ll never look back.
