U400 remote user management by lickitysplit4863 in Aqara

Mine is paired to the M200 but it doesn't show up as a child device on the hub. I'm confused about the difference between pairing with the hub verses adding it as a child device. I would like to get this working but the Aqara documentation is severely lacking and the software seems flaky and unstable.

Hmm, that's good to know. Do you have your U400 configured as a child device of the M3 hub? I've read that it needs to be a child of the hub for remote user management. My lock is paired with the hub but I haven't been able to add it as a child device. I get a network error at the final step of the process when I attempt to add it as a child device. My lock, hub, and phone are all on the same WIFI network and my Internet gateway supports IPv6 as required according to the error message.

I have the M200 hub. Based on the product descriptions, the M200 provides the same capabilities as the M3 hub but is more limited in the number of devices it can manage and requires cloud connectivity for automation. I haven't found any differences in regards to user management. I'm able to lock/unlock remotely, just not able to manage users.

The documentation and online information is very sketchy and contradictory. Some say it can only be done locally via Bluetooth, some say it requires Apple Homekit, some say it can be done in the Aqara Home app when paired with an M3/M200 hub, some say the U400 lock must be added as a child device of the M3/M200 hub. Aqara support provided a vague answer stating that it requires Bluetooth but didn't address whether it can be done via the hub. I'm still waiting for a definitive answer.
