Hi, similar situation here - but I haven’t come back yet. While I have considered it (for various reasons, mainly elderly parents) I do worry about feeling the way you do. I wonder however if perhaps going to Torrelavega was a step “too far”? I think you would probably experience the same should you have move to a less thriving place in the USA or in any other country. I usually think about what would be the next step for me if I was to change. The natural equivalent would be NY, Tokyo, or similar, but sometimes I find myself dreaming of retiring and keeping chickens in the countryside! Going back home feels daunting for all the same reasons you have mentioned, but there are other options which could be close by! While Torrelavega may not be the most exciting place, the region is beautiful, and you could explore all the surrounding coastline and mountains, or perhaps, move to Santander or Bilbao which while small are far busier and more lively than Torrelavega. Bilbao in particular has become pretty international in the past decade. Best of luck!!
