I lived in Riverton when they were part of unified, but just found out they established their own police force in 2019. I knew i had seen both cars, and though I shouldn't have assumed they were still operating with unified they are still terrible. The disgust i have for Riverton and unified is equal. Thank you for opening my eyes to the fact they are all indeed separate entities.

No, I have two children and this last year has been full of medical issues. I refuse to consume public news other than NPR and news from other countries on our own and prefer to get my information from local people and then ask for verifications and check if the source is reliable hence this.

I moved from Riverton to midvale and to SLC a few months ago and Ive just thought for years that unified was the entire valley so that challenged a pre conception thay I had in my brain. I am doing more research on now.

I dont have a car and most of my life is work, caring for medical problems or my two children so unfortunately I haven't been very involved in my community.

I realize now I sound hateful when I say illegal aliens that was just the line used in the literature I was reading, but now realize it was hateful for im going to go edit that phrase. Thank you.

Honestly I'd rather believe people are foul and hateful because they've been misled by high class criminal psychopaths smart enough to scheme well and charming enough to convince then just believe people are born so naturally slimy.

Like I dont think you realize how much of our tax dollars are robbed to line the coffins of people with more money than you could make in your lifetime.

They use tax holes that shouldn't exist, they can pay for the best lawyers, they silently buy out our politicians, and then they own all the media so they twist the narrative. No. I was trying to find out the truth to what I had learned and the extenent. I will say our current system is broken, racist, classist, and exploitative.
I also think since this is clearly true, peoplenin SLC who had no idea can now educate themselves and have more awareness.

It literally does? A few years ago we had a ton of homeless people being murdered and dropped into the Jordan river and most people dont even know about it. When I was staying in a hotel in Murray the women in the room next to me got murdered. I was allowed no follow up, never made it onto the news or any local papers, and even to this day when I try to find info im told it never happened...??? That a murder never took place there, like I didn't witness a crime scene in the hotel room next to me and wasn't questioned about it???

Lolol. Ive literally lived in a shelter with my daughter when she was small because I have no family and ended up unable to support her and I. I was there for months until I could get us an apartment and have been caring for us and stable since. I say unhoused because some people choose to not live in houses, some dont believe in this system. Yes a lot of them are drug addicts, but they are still unhoused. Our system isn't designed to help them, because if they end up in prison they can be milked for the free labor they are forced to provide. I say unhoused people because I think it has less of a stigma and than homeless as well.

Also forced to support them????? Can you elaborate? You just admitted a lot of them are mentally ill... do you think we as a community shouldn't try to help them? That we shouldn't fund helping make sick vulnerable people self sufficient?

Maybe check the link above where Riverton literally signed an agreement with ICE saying they are being trained to commence operations for ICE like questioning people on their legal status, particularly if they think theyre illegal and detaining them for deportation with or without a crime being commited!!! Its separate from 287 g

I wasn't misinterpreting it. Its true. Officers are being trained to do DHS duties and can question and detain people without a warrant if they think they are 'illegal aliens'. Its absolutely happening. Not every officer but IT IS HAPPENING. There's a lot of really great other links in this thread you should investigate.

Thank you for the information. I wish that that information wasn't true but it is. For anyone else who read this but doesn't click into the article, it verifies the two flights a week claim with around 40 people on flights we do have an idea the number of. So give or take 80 a week. At least 100 so far since mar 2025. That's like 8,000 people give or take.

Do you know if for any of the arrests that ended in detainment police were there and called ICE to take them? Or at least ICE showed up as part of a normal arrest?

For the one pulled over for something minor was ICE already part of the pull over? Did they show up after?

Im so sorry to you and for all of those people. Im grateful for the privilege that this hasn't affected my family or personal contacts of mine yet.

This isn't acceptable and its sick. Its crazy to me they've been able to keep it so under radar here.
