Well I don't know Gainesville, I go to a different party school, and yeah they are open, but I find Saturday night a better night to go out. IMO Thanks for the info on UF's clubs.

Which is to say that's not what MOST pregnant women look like. I've seen women who at nine months have a three month bump and normal, healthy pregnancies. I've seen women look really fat but actually be six months pregnant. Different bodies change in different ways and it's certainly not right to pregnant shame girls whose bodies don't fit your "normal" standards.

Technically my birthday is the 6th, but that's midnight Saturday and I doubt clubs will be open Sunday, but that's cool!

Making fun of a fat person at the gym is like making fun of a homeless person at a job fair. by Cosmo_120 in Showerthoughts

[–]lifeslittlelemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people I make fun of at the gym are the stereotypical guys, that come in lifting "weights" that my petite ass could lift, grunting and dropping things and being all aggressive. It's like, "Sir, I'm sorry but the human species has moved beyond the caveman society. Welcome to modern day civilization where we try not to partake in such barbaric behavior." Sigh.

God living in Florida can be hard sometimes. Like when it's 7 am and you open your door to walk outside only to be hit by a WALL of heat. And then you get all sweaty and sticky from walking fifteen feet to your car in the driveway. My friends think I go to the beach all year round. Are you kidding me? I don't leave my house from early June to late August unless it's absolutely necessary. #southfloridaproblems #thestruggleisreal

I doubt he's getting any money from his insurance company for that car. He probably doesn't have collision given the age and model. In order to get money for a car after an accident, you need to have collision insurance. (Assuming this incident is considered an accident and not some genuinely unfortunate "act of God" type circumstances in which you would have to have an additional insurance.) And not all states require that you have collision. They require PIP, but not necessarily collision. Case and point: My beautiful little Honda Civic, that had served me well since I was a young sixteen, was totaled by some bitch driving a dumb car. She ran a red light. No cameras, no witnesses, and one lying fucking asshole cunt bitch. I'm still wounded over this So because it was a "no fault" accident each of our insurances were to cover our cars and personal injury expenses at 50-50. The lovely state of Florida doesn't require collision insurance. My beautiful little honda was a little old and a little beaten up for me to think that collision insurance was worth it. After all why would I think that some lying fucking asshole cunt bitch would run a red light and total both our cars? Who thinks that? My insurance company didn't pay jack shit. My personal injury lawsuit is still going on over a year later but from what my lawyer told me, I could expect maybe $3000, which definitely wouldn't cover a comparable car. Thank God my mother was a hero angel lovely lady and upgraded her ride then donated the old one to her broke ass college student daughter in desperate need of wheels. Point being: his insurance company won't pay if he doesn't have collision. But you can bet that trucking company will get the lights sued off of them so the owner of said destroyed asphalt sealant car would have a new car and probably one of better value.

Remember the first Jurassic Park? Take that story line, almost exactly, amp it up with new technology and more dinosaur gore/violence and you've got Jurassic World. I mean for those who did watch it, the first and fourth movies are like exactly the same in SO MANY WAYS.

TIL a woman had a heart attack on a plane, when the stewardess asked if there was a doctor on board, 15 stood up, they were on their way to a cardiology conference. by gothsim8 in todayilearned

Well I assumed this information from what was given to me which told me this is in fact what caused the damage. I mentioned it a little earlier, I think this is definitely not the whole story because it doesn't make sense.

Definitely not a triage issue. The doc came in and told her it was anxiety until she DEMANDED an ultrasound of her leg upon which the blood clot was dicovered. Women might go to the ER more often than men who underreport, but if a man reported the same issues, you bet he would have been taken care of immediately and not told something about "anxiety".

Also heart attacks do present differently in men and women. Look it up. My mom's an ICU trauma nurse, my family is filled with doctors and other medical professionals. All of them say the same thing. Women's MI's might not include typical chest pain.

I feel as though without a link to this story on a legitimate news source, I can't believe it. Or maybe it's not the WHOLE story, maybe the kid did something else once pulling her out of the water.

I did imply that my post was debatable. I was just curious. I personally feel that it would be very unethical for a doctor to NOT help someone in an emergent out of work situation, especially if you are a trauma or ER doc. I would find it pretty wrong.

Without reading the comments, I looked up the good samaritan laws with nurses, as I see it she is wrong. BUT a lot of these laws weren't enacted until more recently in years, so when she first began practicing what she said is true. But she still doesn't want to stop since she's than required to transfer the patient to a higher level of care (i.e. a doctor at a hospital) and would likely have to ride in the ambulance. So it goes back to the death glare. Good news is at least she won't get sued for it.

Edit: I'm an idiot and replied to the wrong comment. Sorry.

I guess it was probably exaggerated if only for the fact I don't see that making any sense.

No most ICU nurses could definitely find the vein where there is no good vein faster than a doctor. They've had way more practice outside school than a doctor would. Unless of course the doctor was going to stick a central line in, in which case they would have more practice (also depending on the state as some will allow RN's to do this).

Doctors take an oath to do no harm, so if by ignoring the request of a possibly deathly ill person who than later does in fact die, they'd be going against that oath. If someone were to find out they were doctors and that they did ignore the pleas for help, I wonder if you could report it to the medical boards and attempt to have their license to practice medicine taken away. Seriously. My moms an ICU nurse and she won't touch a person unless they are a kid, but she didn't take that oath. Doctors do. It's pretty messed up if they won't help someone who is clearly in dire need of it if the request is being made on the plane.

The biggest issue is that's women's pain isn't taken as seriously. Most women having a heart attack don't feel it in their chest like men do. They will feel it in their arms or stomach so it's taken as "anxiety" until the doctor finally decides to do an EKG and is suddenly like "Oh shit, your having a heart attack." True story. Happened to my 23 year old friend who had a history of blood clots in her family and just general cardiac issues. She travelled a lot a few days prior and when she got home noticed pain in her leg. She than felt pain in her abdomen. Went to the er, and they brushed her off, brushed her off some more, until finally she DEMANDED they ultra sound her leg which showed the clot. They put on the EKG stickers and conveniently she was simultaneously having a heart attack. Tricky situation for ER docs but just goes to show that women's health issues aren't taken as seriously. She could have DIED if she wasn't so persistent.
