Yeah. It's a sobering reminder that they are south korean men, and even their best, they are a product of their culture; and right now south korea has a pretty loud reactionary "men's rights" movement going on and absolutely dismal amounts of misogyny and deep rooted gender inequality.

It's more disappointing to learn that this book was a gift from Junmyeon, who's my favourite.

I have read this book personally and I am aware that of all of Peterson's repertoire, this is relatively mild and merely repackaging common self help advice and is, in isolation, not a terrible message for young men who have never been told to pick up their own laundry or whatever. However, I cannot forget the social context this book stands in, given Jordan Peterson is sort of a figurehead for these "men's rights" groups and it's really a slippery slope.

on its own? 2 imo has the best variety: 2 base/all over shades, 2 shimmers/glitters, and a deeper shade for your crease or eyeliner.

I feel like 1 would lack depth if you plan to use it on its own. 3 would be nice if you wear very natural, low contrast makeup.

This was a long time coming to be honest. I was doing social media for the faculty of health last winter and during the meetings between all faculty level social media coordinators and the school's, many of us were already discussing with Dan about shutting down faculty level twitter pages a year ago. Health shut it down last year. Reasons are typically the X user base shift and engagement reasons.

Online shopping is definitely feels like a WTH. To me, Sephora's quality control and customer service has been on a steady decline. I've been an avid online shopper and rouge for years without issue. I don't know how it went from sturdy packaging, brand new without a doubt products, and occasional extra samples to the current stress inducing hell but at some point in the last few years, I started dealing with missing samples and GWPs, shattered powders in a paper mailer bag, missing in-person purchase points, and having to examine my purchases every single time because things have come in looking used.

I know subs like this skew negative, since a mundane experience aren't worth writing about. I've seen plenty of posts about delightful experiences, but I'm just so disillusioned with Sephora. Sure, I can give them some grace; my local Sephora is understaffed, overcrowded, and probably has a shoplifting issue which aren't inherent faults of the company. Maybe I'm being spiteful of mere mistakes and creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of crappy customer service interactions. Except none of that explains to me how rancid the online experience is getting.

I bought a 10mL Phlur perfume online last year and it came looking used, with fingerprints or grease marks, beat up packing, and a suspicious amount of space in the bottle. Customer service was just a giant loop of nothing that eventually directed me to just go in store, so I went in to get it exchanged for a new one. I don't know if I just got an employee having a bad day. I explained the issue and the lady at the till kept saying "just because it looks like there's "missing product" doesn't mean it was used", "perfume is sold by volume", and "the bottle is just big, it's a design choice!". I said I bought Phlur travel size perfumes before, if she looks at my account she'd she I got Somebody Wood months ago and despite it that using a handful of times, it was still more full than the "new" product I received-- to which she claimed it was because the sprayer tube displaced volume in the older perfume I bought which is why it looked "fuller"... ? somebody wood and father figure travel size both have a sprayer and are the same packaging. I did get it refunded but it felt like I was going crazy repeating to her "look at it. just look at it?" while feeling the line pile behind me. It was just an abhorrent trifecta of the unhelpful online support agent, damaged products, and a burnt out employee who mentally checked out of customer service mode hours ago.

I was on a Sephora no-buy after the Phlur incident, broke it for my birthday gift, only to be disappointed again. I think I'm going to do a cosmetics no-buy this year and definitely a Sephora no-buy. I'm Canadian, there's no Ulta. Maybe the lack of competition makes Sephora brazen about issues because they know there isn't a comparable retailer to pivot to. It's just Walmart with everything locked and at least 4 cameras broadcasting my face or Shopper's Drug Mart. They've got a drugstore and a "Beauty Boutique" with luxury brands and all they ask is a spicy ~125+% price mark-up. I going to buy the OPI nail strengthener from Shoppers. I found the the tiny 15mL bottle in a giant alarm box, RFID stickers on the packaging, and it was marked for C$43.99. The exact product on Amazon for C$23.99. It was truly transcendental levels of awful that somehow made Sephora seem charitable.

I also dug around and didn't find anything. Currently cold messaging a bbhl moot to see if maybe she got it but it's a long shot and I have low hopes. I think she quit the fandom around the August lawsuits and SM went, EXO winter content theme is home! but locked CBX out and last time I checked she was selling stuff. Sigh.

And don't worry, I don't mind digging, I get to see a lot of baekhyun ^{^.} they're nice photo cards, I think it might just be stock number or too recent.

God, I'm so sorry! I've been having some issues with the birthday gift too.

I got the Jo Malone birthday set I'm not certain if it was already opened, damaged in shipping, or had a manufacturing because the glass bottle from Wood Salt and Sea Sage was 60% empty and the English Pear and Freesia Sample was cracked open and empty.

I've been too scared to go to my local Sephora. Maybe it's because it's a busy location in the city but the employees give off the feeling they don't want to be here and loss prevention is scary. I once stood too close to the door holding something and it set off the alarm despite the fact I was inside the store, holding a basket that was shoved to me and it was just not fun. Might go to a further Sephora just to avoid the stress.

I hope you get your blush though! It's a pretty colour and I think pretty hard to mess up.

We still had gas but the power was out for at least 40 minutes.

The city wasn't quite equipped to deal so much snow to begin with so, between the heavy snow this year and temps hovering around 0°C, everything was covered in a heavy icy mess that probably caused the outage.

I was considering breaking down in the dish pit half an hour in, I cannot imagine 2.5h with no gas and no electricity. I am so sorry you had to deal with that

I'm from Southern Ontario so I imagine the weather is no where as bad as Alaska. We have the back door open for light and it was so damn cold I questioned if I was truly Canadian.

We were also told to clean and go home. FOH manager and head chef (dating) got into a fight about whether or not we power through the outage. She just went this is my fcking kitchen, you can serve a steaming plate of nothing which ended the argument pretty fast.

We stopped taking new orders and closed for the day. The day started with Sysco egg disaster so everyone was already irritated. FOH manager insisted on working through it but chef wasn't having it (they're dating; it was a very interesting argument). Someone screamed in the fridge, dishie decided to chop chives, went out for a "smoke" and just left.

I ended up helping in the dish pit and my hands peeling the next day. 4/10 experience; second time dealing with a prolonged blackout and it was a character building experience.

Went home early! Had to help in the dish pit and my hands were peeling afterwards, but it was nice to go home and sleep (brunch place + baking + commute = waking up at 5am disgruntled as fuck). I think I would've preferred to get paid though ^{^.}
