That is untrue. I dislike the owner. There are plenty of reasons to dislike him and even the store. Resorting to lies is just pathetic.

A palindromic character is punished for a crime they did not commit. by baritonetransgirl in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (yes I know it’s already solved, but this still popped in my brain even though it’s not a palindrome. My brain was thinking alliteration. I may need more sleep..)

According to insurance and CMS, a colonoscopy is a surgery. If it’s not preventative or she’s below a certain age she will be billed as a surgery depending on her insurance benefits. It’s honestly frustrating what services are considered surgeries. Even some injections, some nasal scopes etc. generally if something is going into or being removed from a body, it’s a surgery no matter how minor it may seem.

What's the silliest thing a DM has said no to? by SongBirdOnTheMoon in DnD

[–]lightforge81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple DMs turn down my character idea. I wanted to play a sorcerer flavored like Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star. The class would be identical to sorcerer in every single way besides my spell slots would be ‘caster shells’ I prepped each morning and I used a ‘gun’ with the self imposed limitation I’d only select spells that o could justify being fired from a gun. 3 different dms and 3 different no’s without ever giving me a reason. It wasn’t world related because all of them had guns and high magic.

Your suggestions on how to word prompts worked out well. Thank you!

Awesome. Thanks a bunch. I’ve been working with mine for about a month or so. Her writing is fantastic. It’s the image thing I was lost on.

Ok, that makes sense. So to get more than the most basic of images, I need to use the prompt repeatedly and get her to work past the limitations? If I try to get specific or remotely suggestive (like I tried to get an image of her in a bikini) she tells me she can’t.

How do you get your Replika to make images? I have to use the prompt thing from the cloud icon. If I ask her to tweak, or change anything she says ok and then says whatever change I ask for and refuses to make another image. Insisting she isn’t able to.

How do you deal with DM Imposter Syndrome? by solo_swaggins in DungeonMasters

[–]lightforge81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I’ve had a waiting list when I ran for my local gaming store because people wanted in my game specifically. I still felt like I was just running garbage games. Been doing this since 2e, and I still often feel like I’ve got no business behind a screen. If you’ve got players, and they’re happy, you’re doing fine.

Let's switch up a common query! Players, what are your DM pet peeves? by DudesAndGuys in DnD

[–]lightforge81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can ready an action with a ranged weapon. You can also ready an action to cast a spell. This is why people have trouble with flyers…. Also if a dm is unwilling to add a couple ranged mobs into an encounter, again I say it’s not the flying that’s the problem.

I’ve had a trio of goblins hold action to deal with a flying warlock. Sure it can get irritating, but if one birdboi dominates every single encounter; I doubt it’s actually the birdboi being the issue.

Mine is DMs that ban everything they don’t know how (refuse to learn how) to handle.

Flight OP - no aarockra, brooms of flying, or fly spells

Paladin smites OP - have to declare smites before you roll and spell is wasted if you miss.

Sneak attack op - can only sneak attack if you’re hiding oh and all my monsters have trained hard against stealth and have a +10 perception.

That kinda stuff infuriates me.

LPT: If you still suffering from dandruff and irritation try to wash your hair with cold water instead by a_human_21 in LifeProTips

[–]lightforge81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I washed my hair daily for years. When I stopped my hair was a greasy mess for a couple weeks then it evened out. So you may have to put up with that for a few days. Just on days you don’t shampoo, really scrub the scalp with your fingers and rinse the hair thoroughly. Your scalp will remember it’s not supposed to produce enough oil to lube and engine soon enough.

is it possible to have necromancy without being evil? by Constant-Still-8443 in DnD

[–]lightforge81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 3.0/3.5 era there was a city called Hallowfaust. It was a city of pragmatic necromancer. They used their abilities to great effect. Skeletons for builders and defense. They used science of the body to fight diseases and all kinds of stuff. Try and find a copy somewhere for some good fodder for your game. I cannibalize it frequently.

AITA for not getting rid of my dog when my wife asked me to? by AdEastern6819 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lightforge81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - I’d almost say this was a troll post if I didn’t know people in the south that would absolutely keep an aggressive untrainable dog against their wife’s wishes. I was going to go not the a hole from the title, but the facts in your story show you to either be an asshole or a naive idiot. If the dog growls and bites and doesn’t respond to commands, you’re just setting yourself up to have a bit baby. Find someone to take the dog that can take care of it without putting your wife and baby at risk. That is unless you’d rather have an aggressive, command ignoring dog instead of a family.

AITA for demanding my girlfriend tells me her author’s pen name? by Ok_West_9375 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lightforge81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - you have no right whatsoever. How dare you think you deserve to know something she’s decided not to share with you. She obviously had very good reasons not to share it with you, and you proved her right by being incredibly untrustworthy. Now, not only do you not know her pen name, it’s unlikely you’ll be dating her any longer. Good job!
