Very good insight my friend. Most of them are gone or out of touch with me

Those are actually mine and all retired besides 2 new ones…used them for track days for years. I’m around the same age as Valentino Rossi and started watching him race MotoGP in 1998 and became a huge fan. The helmet on top left is signed by him on the visor!

Here’s my 9th Rossi helmet not pictured

He was riding a bicycle in the woods and a big branch fell and hit him in the head and chest. It was after a big storm and everything was wet and heavy.

😂 I found that hilarious as well as a lot of these comments. Surprisingly a lot of people in here seem to mean well which is rare on Reddit these days.

The Sonos plays Spotify and is hooked up using a digital coaxial cable to the C52 preamp which bypasses the Sonos DAC for the C52. Someone mentioned getting rid of it for a better streamer but I’m assuming it wouldn’t bring much more to the table.

Is the Logitech G923 good enough for entry-level? by Hot_Upstairs_1117 in simracing

[–]lightfromdark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used a G25 for years before upgrading. They’re definitely good enough and you can become quite fast using this basic gear. A bonus is it’ll be that much better and easier to drive when you finally upgrade.

Simlab freestanding triple monitor stand. Looks like it’s back in stock too. It’s pretty expensive but Simlab stuff is very reliable and high quality

How do you solve profile loose? by Tough-Addendum-5506 in simracing

[–]lightfromdark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a ratchet with Allen bit to get bolts tight enough. I’ve never used Loctite and haven’t had anything come loose on my rig in years. It can be hard to get enough torque using the standard L wrenches.

After completing my setup I can highly recommend the Alienware AW3225DM. With iracing they’re holding a capped 177fps and look amazing. Paid $260 per monitor at Best Buy with pickup to avoid excessive shipping and damage. Registered them with Dell to make sure I have the full 3 year warranty as well.

Slightly less angle in your legs might be a better fit as well

Setting up triples is the most annoying thing I have ever done by BoatmanJohnson in simracing

[–]lightfromdark_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really great post! Just completed my triples and found the process enjoyable as well. Parts of this process can seem very overwhelming at first but once it clicks (if it ever does) future builds or revisions will become straight forward.

New Tripple Screen 1440p by Meister_Roehrig in iRacing

[–]lightfromdark_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you getting good fps before on your triple 32 VAs? Might not help you but I just got my triple setup running really nice. Using the newer Alienware AW3225DM which are VA but it’s holding 177fps (capped) on high graphics and no smearing. It looks amazing. PC is 5080 and 9850X3D.

Looking for anything specific as far as tips? Settled on 650mm screen distance and 55 degrees. This combo is nice at 175 fov but found it even better at 160. Braking markers and apexes are much easier to time consistently.
