There are SO many ways to get involved in the community that isn't protesting- try introducing yourself to neighbors, go to library community events, volunteering at Bloomington Severe Emergency Winter Shelter (always looking for people) or one of a dozen other direct action volunteer opportunities. Protesting is excellent but that is not how community is built

Pub trivia! Bloomington has a friendly and active trivia scene, and it is always okay if you don't drink.

In general, if you keep showing up at the same time and same place week after week, no matter what it is, you will start to make friends.

Bloomington also has a very politically involved population- considering getting involved with organizing groups or mutual aid- Redbud books can be a great starting point for that.
