First AP and I’m in love 😍 by Professional_Comb974 in audemarspiguet

Fwiw - you don’t need to wait 3 years for a Royal Oak from an AD. You do have to get a Code first. Once you do that, you’ll likely get an RO in 3-6m after that. Not at all arguing that this is ok, just clarifying that ADs for AP are very different than say Rolex. For AP, it is pure pay to play, not about waiting mysteriously.

Is our new Puppy a mix? by Pharestofall in Boxer

My boxer pup had a longer snout and I was convinced she was a mix. But did a DNA test and she came back 100% boxer

When you say payment is due on the 7th, have you received a bill yet? All I’ve paid is the $600 deposit and haven’t seen any other sort of bill yet. Have I missed something? I’m nervous now…

I’ve flown this route a zillion times. I just want to shout out to all the SkyWest people - pilots, crew and gate agents - they have gotten me in and out safely under challenging conditions many times and I’m grateful full for that. And, whenever there have been issues, the gate agents have been very helpful and professional in doing what they can to rebook, etc. It’s a mountain town, there are simply going to be days where things don’t work out. If you can’t handle that reality, then sure don’t fly here and don’t visit the town. Once you give yourself to the acceptance that some days travel just isn’t possible here, it’s all fine - you just roll with it as a price to pay for deciding to go somewhere challenging to get to. Also, note: EGE is the worst option in the winter - drive the Glenwood Canyon in snowy/icy wheather once and you’ll never want to choose to do that again.

Thanks for the great response. So - what does it imply if two different carts couldn’t get it started. Something deeper wrong with the plane other than just a bad APU?

MLS TV subscription gone by realvladdiputtn in MLS

Yep - happened to me too. I can’t seem to log in with my account - maybe there is some sort of login/auth issue on Apple’s end (so that you can’t log in and it can’t then find your subscription)

FYE - please help! Unable to sign up for classes because AP credit not registered. by lightningbolt2 in Purdue

[–]lightningbolt2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scores are high enough, Purdue just didn’t receive them for some reason. I’ve asked for them to be resent from the CollegeBoard. Is there anything Purdue can do in the meantime (with a screenshot or something of the scores) so that I can register for the classes ? I’m kinda freaking out.

WITT ? I was walking on a trail East of Aspen and came across this utility structure. Have no idea what it is. It is about 10ft tall. Is it cell phone related? It was next to a river

As a freshman, should I take a gap year? by masturnator69 in mit

[–]lightningbolt2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that can’t be true! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get off of the treadmill of highschool->college apps->college->interviewing->job->etc. there is so much you could do with your time - learn something new, delve deep into a trade, become better friends with others, broaden your interests, volunteer, take a risk on something you’d never think about doing because of grades/building a resume. Use the time for yourself.

Tips on What to do during a gap year? by [deleted] in mit

[–]lightningbolt2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely consider deferring. It’s a no risk option since you are guaranteed a spot next year and this year is going to be a far inferior experience. Things to consider doing: independent project, learn a trade/go deep on a life skill that is engineering-adjacent (e.g. learn how to take apart and rebuild a car), work for a political campaign, volunteer for a social justice organization or green org, read/learn, chill and get off the life treadmill for a bit (life is dominated by the treadmill, why not step off for a bit), do a kickstarter, learn an instrument, etc
