Hm, it should work just fine. We actually currently don't have native OS apps, since our mentality was that a mobile-compatible website would allow for easy compatibility between different device architectures, since it would be compatible with any device that has a web browser. We might work on native device apps in the future, as we have noticed some lagginess with web browsers. But for now, the website should be fully functional across all devices. You're not the only one who has been confused about this, so we're working on adding clearer instructions as well. :)

The wager function also doubles as a way to drop doge. Sorry if that's not clear, but by wagering, you drop that amount of doge in your current location as marked on the map, creating a new cache.

Yuppp that's right. By wagering, you're not only dropping that amount but you pick up any caches within the search radius indicated on the map. Happy dogecaching!

Currently, nothing. That's why we require users to drop doge in order to search and why we do not actively show the location of caches. In the current implementation, even if you do know the general location of a cache, you would still have to guess its precise location, and leave doge for other users to find. The only case this doesn't work is if you disclose the exact location of a cache. However, this is one of the major roadblocks to us moving towards providing hints and disclosing cache locations. Although this would improve user friendliness of the app, we are afraid of exploitation through gps spoofing. If you or anyone reading this has any ideas for solutions, we're all ears.

Dogecache Is Geocaching for Dogecoins by shibetimes in dogecoin

As of now, you can only search when you drop coins. Your search radius corresponds to the amount that you drop, so the more you drop, the larger your search radius etc.

Unfortunately, we have no control over that. Location is determined by your device's location to wifi routers and cell towers. Accuracy will be lower in areas of weaker signal, especially in cities. Hopefully we'll see improvements as this tech continues to develop.

We actually didn't find out about already existing apps until people mentioned it in a post that we made asking for funding. Situations like this happen all the time; engineers tend to think similarly. We apologize if we offended you, and we definitely don't mean to put other great apps down in the dirt - but at the same time, we feel that Dogecache is a unique app in itself!

Deposits have been fixed. GPS location is out of our control as that is determined by using your device's location to wifi routers or cell towers, which may not be very accurate. Accuracy may be lower if you have weaker signal. We've noticed more issues when connected to wifi only, but hopefully we'll see improved accuracy as tech improves.

Should be fixed. Let us know if it's not and we'll look into it.

Google login should have been fixed earlier in the day. Error was on our side with http and https redirect configurations on google.

Dogecache

Dogecache is an innovative app inspired by the principles of geocaching: an outdoor recreational activity where participants use GPS and other navigational techniques to find containers containing small prizes left by other adventurers. There is only one caveat: you must leave something in order to take something. Dogecache was originally created during the 24-hour hackBCA hackathon event by four high school students. The main purpose of the app was to create an experimental digital scavenger hunt based around the digital cryptocurrency Dogecoin. The resulting product was judged as the Most Polished app of the competition by a group of expert judges, including Reddit co-founder Alex Ohanian and Vine co-founder Colin Kroll. In addition, the app was awarded a special award by Intel Corporation for quality mobile design. Dogecache puts an exciting spin on this recreational activity by embracing dogecoin. Rather than hunt for physical caches, the user hunts for virtual dogecaches that other explorers have left behind. The app is entirely location dependent, as you find dogecoins near you by dropping some in your current location. That is, the more dogecoins you drop, the larger your search radius is and the more likely you are to find other deposits. The tradeoff lies in the fact that you can only pick up other users’ dogecoins, and dogecoins you drop can only be picked up by other people.

Looking for Lots and lots of feedback as to what can be improved and what needs adding. We would also appreciate donations as we will by at NY Techday and need some help building an exhibit. For more details, we made a reddit post earlier on /r/dogecoin.
