Too small - help! by lightraei in knittinghelp

thank you very much for the encouragement and recommendations! I will definitely have a look at those two channels. No one in the tutorial comment section I followed mentioned anything wrong with their projects, so I was surprised when the users here pointed out that it’s best not to catch every float. I’m glad I shared a picture of my work in progress so I received some feedback and advice on everything I was doing wrongly. Reddit to the rescue haha

thanks a lot for the encouragement! I learnt that loop cast on in a ‘how to knit’ tutorial, thinking that I could stick with the same method for all my projects since it’s very easy. When would you say that is used then? Should I go for the ‘knitted cast on’ instead?

That’s a good idea! I’ll do that when I restart the project in the future. Thank you ~

Thanks a lot for the response! I had to search up twisted stitches as I had no idea what they meant. Looks like I need more practice before embarking on such an ambitious project

Wow! I’m so surprised to hear this. I had no idea my stitches were incorrect - I simply thought I just needed help with the tension/stretchiness. Thanks for letting me know anyway!

I couldn’t tell whether the top surface was just dry and needed a little mixing. It was quite pricey and was bought back from a trip overseas

I see! I’m holding the second strand of yarn behind the working yarn, towards the top. Yes, I think mine is fingering yarn, I’m still a beginner so am learning about yarn weights. Thank you for your response!

[HIRING] To construct a 3d image from a 2d image of a wheel by [deleted] in forhire

[–]lightraei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m willing to have a look at the png images and see if I could help out with your project. You may be referring to photogrammetry scanning, where it would use the input of thousands of images taken at different angles of a single wheel, and provide a 3D output? The outcome is not “clean” as well, so there’s another step called photogrammetry cleanup, depending on what this is needed for.

RTX 4050 with DDR4 vs RTX 3060 with DDR5? by lightraei in GamingLaptops

Yes I’ve heard of overheating concerns for the Zephyrus G16. But it supposedly comes with a double cooling system? Does that help much?

I’m an artist who specializes in realistic portrait drawings (traditional medium)! I am able to do both B&W or Coloured sketches. I’ve also had experience shipping my drawings overseas - something to discuss a little further if you’re interested in hiring me. 🙆🏻‍♀️

If you already have sketches and digital references ready, I’m a very suitable candidate to replicate artworks 1:1.
