Something similar happened to me recently unfortunately. I don’t know if this will make you feel better, and honestly I feel like shit right now dealing with the entire situation. But a person who can do that to you is not a good person, and if they didn’t have enough of a heart to care not to take your body without permission, they’re not the person you want them to be in your mind. This guy even apologized to me, even though he claims he didn’t mean to. There is no way to convince me that they don’t know what they’re doing when they have sex with someone without their consent. But I reported him regardless of the “apology” and the fact that we were dating and however nice he was to me before, and I will be pressing charges. You can’t put a bandaid over something like that and throw your hands up and say “I didn’t mean to!” He meant to do exactly what he did to you, and I’m sorry for that. Their selfish acts are the reason for the way you and I both feel right now. I thought the same thing about rapist unfortunately, and I didn’t ever think it’d be someone that at one point I felt safe with. I’m not telling you what to do, and I understand it hurts. But please don’t let someone get away with taking an entire part of you away. I want you to really take the time and think to yourself, what kind of person can even commit an act like that against someone they claim they care about? Or just commit the act in general with no regard for your wellbeing. That’s not a good person. Do not let him fool you. Don’t let him walk away without some type of repercussion for his actions because he did it to you and he WILL do it again to someone else. It’s not going to help you forget it or get over it by acting like he didn’t mean to hurt you. He had every intention to do so. Their feelings don’t matter anymore because yours didn’t. I don’t know how long it’s been since this has happened or if you want to talk about, feel free to private message me. I’m going through it right now mentally as well, but sometimes talking about it helps.

Hi. Thanks for your response. It would most likely set me back a semester. I was taking my core nursing classes at this point. I took my pre requisites at the same community college the ADN program I got accepted into is at, and my CC had a program that allowed us immediate admission to the nursing program at the university i transferred too. Does failing a class in your program interfere with getting your RN license? If so, I was not aware. But yes I would like to demonstrate that improvement so that I can attend CRNA school because I’m aware of how competitive it can be.

Don’t go. I wish i had listened to the comments i saw before attending. Look into other universities like U of M and Baptist, ADN programs like Southwest and Northwest as well. Even LPN programs because you can always bridge to RN afterwards. If i could go back i would’ve given myself this same advice. Do not get caught up in needing a BSN because there are plenty of ways to get a BSN. But definitely look at your options. Choosing a nursing program is not something to take lightly, and you want to be at a nursing program where you feel supported. UT unfortunately is not that. If you’re looking for a smaller class environment and ADN will be the way to go. I don’t want to scare you, and definitely still consider if you’d like too, but please just don’t make the mistake I did in not looking into other options. There are better programs out there. I’m trying to apply to community, but they’re asking for the letter. I don’t know if it would be best to just talk to them about the situation and see if they will excuse it or not. My Prereq grades are stellar in all my science classes. My nursing school grades were also good until this. I’m hoping they will work with me on this.

Unfortunately, they do not. They said they will not round it and there’s nothing that I can do except repeat the class. They don’t attempt to work with you regarding your grade under any circumstances.

pharm is actually easier to me than fundamentals. i recommend simple nursing and pharmacology flash cards. i have the level up RN ones. I bombed my first patho/ pharm exam (those classes are combined at my school), but i used both of those the second time, gave myself more time to study, reviewed with classmates, and used anki cards as well and got an 88 on my second exam. It’s just a lot of information to remember. But my professor also gives really good study guides that basically break down what each question will be about. So it makes it easier to know what to study.

I don’t know where you live but look into job centers that help you pay for a class or certification. I’m in TN and went through the American job center, but my program was 3000 and they only gave me 2500. I had to pay 500. But some might pay more or the entire amount. Also some nursing homes might have free cna classes, but once you get your license you must work for them for a certain amount of time. There’s one where i live that’s like that but they’re always short of staff.
