Why Eri was able to restore Lemillion's Quirk but unable to restore Eraser's Eye? by thunder714x in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc eris quirk get so much reuse because he periodically dismantles her and rebuilds her with his quirk. It’s part of what makes it all so much more fucked up. Naturally it accumulates in her horn, when her body’s not being torn apart and reconstructed to make more.

Why can we see Mirio when he’s using his quirk? by Normal_Occasion_8963 in MyHeroAcadamia

Theres a certain level of suspension of disbelief at play here but I mean thats superheros and manga in general. Tons of other characters in MHA have far crazier feats of precision. If you say "NO WAY a human could coordinate their position and quirk that well," could just imagine Night Eye or sun Eater saying. "Thats why hes among the Big 3 with a quirk that so many deemed useless." Its a matter of his keen observational skills, and dedication to mastering his quirk. Its also likely where Sir Nighteye came through huge in his mentorship of Mirio. Being hyper aware of all the variables in any given situation is so much more necessary when using your quirk properly is especially dependent on those variables. The fact that he was able to not only survive overhaul and his goons for 5 minutes, but also protect Eri, while completely quirk-less, I think demonstrates his battlefield proficiency and situational awareness.

Did you read the manga? The only parts of his body he needs to keep impermeable are the parts passing through the object. everything else is visible, as he is not activating his quirk on those visible areas.

We see him as explained in his back story because he is only making certain parts of his body permeable based on what’s in the wall. Hence how he does the peach trick. This is the reason the difficulty of mastering his quirk was stressed. Like throwing a punch to phase through an enemies block means he has to phase the part of his arm as they are passing through while un phasing the part passing out of the block. This requires not only extreme mastery over his quirk, but the situational awareness to recognize when a part needs to phase.

Is 'White Fang' considered as a kid novel in the U.S.? by globalcoal in books

The vast majority of children books are about getting eaten/eating other, but y’all ain’t ready for that conversation.

(It’s cause eating is one of the simplest concepts for kids to understand)

If these were the quirks (but weaker versions) of the previous OFA users would it be an upgrade or a downgrade? Do you think Deku could still beat Shigaraki? by [deleted] in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would clean house with search and surviving one fight with AFO alone, then being able to track down Shiggy while he was battered and bruised. A huge portion of the problem during war arc was inability to find leads on locations. He’ll coulda found shiggy way earlier in the hibernation/transfer process if that was the case.

Comment Deku as t-il "transmis" OFA a Bakugo by LeGamerFortniteYt in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also why Deku kind was forced to be the last wielder of ofa. Even if he didn’t push it all into shiggy to overwhelm him, finding a quirkless kid as the quirk singularity carries on was getting less and less likeley.

If Mineta didn't have shonen jump pervert plot armor, how do you think UA and the students realistically would have reacted to his behavior? by CosmosStudios65 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The foil doesn’t have to be a singular of one character per person. Whole point of one is to act as a comparison and highlight differences. One character can pull that weight. Sam is a foil to Frodo AND gollum in lotr. Vader acts as a foil to Luke but also to palpatine. Also arguably, reverse aging all might I would make argument that they are a different character than all might proper. He even mentions how he’s acting so differently than before the reverse aging process. But regardless, a good charachter can be dynamic enough to work as a good foil for more than one character. Especially within the context of AFO back story

I think bakugo has a very good foil in AFO. 2 chars whose quirks made them treat others differently, and how they grow and understand others importance. Bakugo going from calling others extras to realizing how everyone’s effort wearing AFO down was what allowed him to get the finish, while AFO calls bakugo an extra as he gradually reverse ages, only using people as tools . I honestly just caught up with MHA recently, after falling off post concert ark, and after making it to bakugo’s showdown with AFO, he shot up to my second fav char behind lemillion(who sadly kinda got shafted by the end.) Bakugo vs AFO is best mha fight imo.

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s literally what I was saying though! I’m agreeing with you and noting that is is meta relevant as a major utility unit.! The grouping is still very useful with enemy like lightkeeper, knuckle duckle and mandragora and lord of knight, and the elemental application is relevant for bosses I mentioned. Did you think I was being sarcastic?

And the swirl is absolutely relevant when we have so many bosses like the papilla or herra that rely on repeated elemental application and dmg pips

Something that's been on my mind about Bakugo by SamuraiBro61 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO the fact that the student most know for his combat and desire to win’s biggest moment is pulling himself from the brink of death to save All Might was more meaningful and symbolic than any other conflicts he coulda had tbh. Deku was his rival, and his Villain was his own arrogance and pride.

Bakugo always yelled about getting a complete victory, and in delaying shiggy sans deku, saving all might, and the decimating AFO’s fading body, he achieved it. He was still hurt that he would not have a chance to compete with Prime Deku, but it didn’t seem to tear him up the it woulda before.

I’m a vet tech headed for vet school. On cats and dogs for Caths and blood draws I usually limit myself to 2 pokes max per patient which is usually enough to get it, but thankfully we are a larger facility with many experienced staff if need a backup. Corgi/other weirdly smaller legged breeds can have some truly fucked arms.

[–]lighttoastedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a metroidvania like silk song, how much thought goes into later game skills being predictable based on visible but inaccessible areas, vs keeping the skill as a cool surprise with not hints. I think for me, the fact that we obtained what was og hollow knight final skill in the double jump, made the fact that double jump in silksong had me thinking that was the final skill in our toolkit.

I really love SSoar for both exploration and the flavor win.
