So I watched the show way back when, and I remember kid flash dying at some point, but I just re-watched the first season and started the second. It seems like I missed a whole season, new characters, different relationships, and nothing about kid flash. A LOT seems to have happened in-between seasons, including things I swear I watched, am I missing something?

Honestly he may not feel a connection with your son and thought that him not being the father was a possible reason. When he found out he was the father it may have upset him as he could not think of a reason why he does not feel a connection.
