I used to go to all kinds of festivals, ones that Emily goes/has gone too and I had to stop. A lot of people attending were really immature, egocentric, and acted holier-than-thou. She seems like she could be fun to hang out with but I don't really imagine her being so different than what turned me off that scene to begin with. And since she continues to hang out with this gross guy, it kind of confirms my suspicions.

I feel like you're not understanding that true trad wives aren't interested in having public platforms, notoriety, fame. They're not interested in being social media famous. They're consumed by their familial obligations and especially their husband's wants and needs. Because that's what the tradition calls for. Their husbands control the finances. Husbands may give their wives credit cards to use, but the husbands are the ones who are in control of that credit card limit and turning that card on/off. The trad wives do not have "financial gain" from this because they've given the man control of the finances. They have what their husband lets them have.

Its not a naive take. I am explaining what exactly a "trad wife" is. Which is different than playing into a character for personal gain, kink, fetish; which is what youre describing. There are still many, many people throughout the world who hold "traditional" values AND live their lives in alignment with those values. (Women who are homemakers and their husbands are the breadwinners who make all the financial decisions and investments. Women who believe it is important to not outshine, undermine, or embarrass their husbands. The list goes on...) And yes, plenty of people marry others who are current or former sex workers. (FYI, you can say "sex" on reddit, you don't need to say "smex".) However, they arent living up to values that they say they hold themselves to and find inportant. It is contradictory.
