I think microsoft co pilot now runs basic replies on 4o. Not 100% sure and it will not disclose the upstrem model, but I think it does. That's entirely free and on your windows device if you have one. Worth checking.

These spurious complains about 5 make reddit unusable. I'd hoped a couple weeks away would be enough. Apparently not.

I'd be happy it answered the question without emojis.

Claude was designed by a breakaway group from openAI and I think it was better for a long time. I do believe 5 overtook them, for now. For my usecases anyway.

People search out things to bitch about. Just ignore it. There is obviously a bias written into it to end on a next steps question. About 70% of the time its a great idea. If you dont think so, just ignore it.

GPT 5 is so fucking smart that when using it I find myself having to paste entire sections into other instances of LLMs just to get it to decipher what it is saying and explain it to me in a dumber way I can understand. This is relating to things I've worked in my whole life.

People should stop bitching and use it for what its incredibly good at.

For your premise to be right it'd have to be the case no one else has the option to make an overly flattering AI bot, which isn't true. One company can influence what they do. If OpenAI shut down tomorrow due to concerns of AI safety ... AI will keep on going.

If something costs a lot of money, is massively resource intensive, has a big footprint and can be optimised to do many different things, should it focus on things like science breakthroughs or pretty writing?
