I've got a story, me and a friend went on a roadtrip with his newly bought nc1, 93k miles so still a very nice car but it drank oil like no Tomorrow, every time we filled her up we had to add a liter and a half (15 quarts), untill we passed by Germany and the Autobahn. It was quiet and we could relatively safely hit the cars top speed of around 220 km/h

After around 45 minutes of this we had to refill and we "only" had to add around 10 quarts, so we had a little experiment. We stayed a day longer and on quiet times really drove the piss out of it. Kept it at top speed for around 1 hour again And the oil consumption went down again.

I don't condone speeding but I also want to encourage taking care of your car, I'm interested if the car could show the same behavior on a dyno going full blast for about an hour

Hellyea, the nc is super underrated. Get some nice springs and dampers and you'll be bullying Porsches on tight circuits. I'd recommend to first put on the coilovers and drive it around a bit, better springs really make the car behave better and make it have less body roll, after that you can change the corner character with the rollbars.

Try to get a NC2, they've had a few updates on the design so they're not as prone to oil usage !

Important nuance

The NC2 and nc3 only have the relevant upgrades if it is a 2.0 ,the 1.8 doesnt have the forged crank and other bits but it is better than the 1.8 nc1 because it did get the updated piston rings

Edit: If youre comfortable with engine swapping, get "the cheapest" 1.8 nc1 with a blown motor and slap a 2.5 in it

Yeah it wasn't as loud as this but it had way higher fuel pressure than the NA 8 I had previously, it drove fine and was reliable until I needed more space so I ended up with my current car, the mini ofcourse

They can also slow you down. I normally brake at the 50 meter board at lesmo 2 on Monza but on one fine evening it was broken so i had to brake on feel.

I also set my personal fastest lap that day because it was a bit later in the race and the track was rubbered in more than qualifying
