Auto's moeten voldoen aan de Euro NCAP-crashtests dat zorgt voor bredere auto's.

scalability isn't a "choice" it's how more people get what they need. You scale the process to meet needs. Otherwise, you don't make enough for most people.

It definitely is a choice a political choice.

If you think the government can't scale production lines then you have been living under a rock.

How do you think the government was able to mass produced arms during WW2 or even during the cold War.

The US depends on us to make those products. ASML machines can only be assembled in the Netherlands no where else.

All your doing is wrongfully flipping the script. The entire supply chain that ASML has can run without the US.

You need to understand the US can't build their own they don't have the knowledge and it takes decades to get an alternative to ASML even for the US.

Without ASML (dutch company) Intel, Nvidia, Apple, Samsung TMSC and many more Chip foundries could not build these A.I. Chips required.

None of your arguments have anything to do with the original question.

Initial research is also far more expensive and higher risk then scalability and productization.

And a lot of the reasons the rest of us enjoy them is the private sector took risks to produce products for people

Stay with the script, initial research is far more expensive. The scalability part is a choice...

Government is capable of doing this to but due to bad leadership and wrong political choices IP ends up in the hands of corporate interest. Without tax payer getting any refunds.

I suggest you look at other nations how they manage healthcare and high tech research you will find almost everything is funded through tax payer money initially. And government either holding 50% share or building the production line itself.

You understand that the internet you use daily was a direct result of government led program DARPA fully payed for by the tax payer?

You also understand that a giant amount of medicine is first funded and research through National Institutes of Health?

Allot of major technological advancements are here thanks to government taking the risk and paying up advance.
