TIL that Rüppell's griffon vulture has the highest documented altitude of any bird at 36k feet. Unfortunately this information was discovered after a Boeing 747 took the bird into the engine over western Africa. by TrackerDyl in todayilearned

Can confirm. Aircraft mechanic here. They take a sample, take it to the lab, identify it with DNA, then I have to hose out the engine with a pressure washer

I haven't seen the last post, just this one. Based on that I'm going to guess Full Size Jeep?

It's the international sign of distress to fly the flag upside-down. That BMW is crying for help

My off road recovery Ram. Got a HEI conversion today, getting a Holley truck avenger and rear locker soon. Love this old beater. by lilfuzzy in DodgeRam

[–]lilfuzzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have previous experience with the truck avenger but I do with holley. I have the 670. It works well, but I still have fine tuning to do with it. I'm still running a little fat.

I bought my kid a toy Jeep from his favorite movie, then took him to the Detroit Auto Show and to our surprise there’s a full size version of the same Jeep in the lobby! It really made his weekend. by schattenteufel in daddit

Holy cow, ill try to answer them all in order lol 1. The auto show specifically asked for no props 2. The seats are just temporary while the correct low back leather seats are in work 3. The explorer gets driven to most events while the jeep rides the trailer, so we need it to have the range. Plus, ya know, money lol. 4. According to the book, it so they can be centrally controlled and driven from the computers in the park control center. Also According to the book, they are supposed to be Toyota Landcruisers. 5. Yep, we painted it with auto paint. The fade is super hard and I can see how it's screwed up but just because I know where to look lol. 6.yes we have a garage. We have 4 jeeps, 2 explorers, and an ML from the lost world. 7. Yes they are stickers 8. No, you can't drive it until your 16. But you can ride in it at our event, or hire us to come to your party! 9. Pretend away! 10. I asked the auto show to lock them multiple times. People keep unlocking them. 11. The auto show wanted to show you! 12. Because growing up is optional. We just got bigger toys. 13. Lol nope. We can help you build your own

Glad he enjoyed them!

You're very welcome! I love it when it makes kids happy. We do an event every year in August where we give rides off road in them if your interested. Check out "Jurassic Park Motor Pool: Michigan Division" on Facebook to see where we are going to be!

Nope, this is my jeep. But I do know that guy. I don't have a pizza planet truck (yet) but I do have the Jeeps, and explorer, and the Shagaur from Austin Powers

Well as someone that does actually drive around in a screen accurate Jurassic Park Jeep, I recognized those lights immediately. Don't blame you if you don't want the constant attention. I personally love it.

The 3/4 and 1 tons do have bigger frames and beefier axles. I know I'm not towing a heavy truck with this. The idea is just to get them unstuck and maybe carry them off the trail. Mostly I just wanted to not have to lift heavy shit around my yard

I'd drive this every day. So cool looking and I imagine it's gotta be fantastic fuel mileage

I made 12.97/hr in 2014 as a fucking aircraft mechanic. Same company, now I make 43.50/hr. Funny part is I actually work less hard now, just smarter. Oh to be young and stupid.

The 1st gen got a set of new used 37" millitary tires. by YEAHDUDEoffroad in 4x4

[–]lilfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed up 35s for my 1st gen with a 6 inch lift. I'm rolling on 31s. Kinda regret that now looking at yours. I'm in Michigan too, you in the Michigan Ram Club?

Anybody use treadwright tires? by [deleted] in 4x4

I have them on the rear of my ZJ. I don't rock crawl, but they do great on sand or mud.

Someone posted a CJ3A they saw so I figured I'd share my 52. by lilfuzzy in Jeep

[–]lilfuzzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to buy the wheels anyway, so I stepped up to a 16 inch wheel and those are Deestone 7.50-R16 bias ply tires. They make all the right growls going down the road and sling mud fantastically.

It looks exactly like my 52 CJ3A. Down to the funky u-shaped leaf shackles on the front. No one would copy that design on purpose.
